QUOTE(wingster @ Dec 10 2009, 02:16 PM) still not yet .... it means that you do your adjustment before u press the shutter... then the camera will use that exposure setting to capture all 7 shots... it doesnt really apply to M mode as your settings will be the same anyway, it mainly applies to P, A and S modes.. where normally the exposure will change accordingly TTL while shooting. But if in speed priority, the exposure wont change even if the scene shifts from dark to bright in-between the 7 frames capturetoday just went in the showroom and testing the A550 .... I was like totally amazed with it's performance especially the speed priority mode.... but I have some question about it ... the speed priority (7FPS) means that totally cannot adjust the aperture on M mode? I did test the shot on speed priority in Manual and the aperture was free to adjust .... very confused >_< Overall it was amazing however I dislike it's new handling .... everything wasn't fit well compared with A350 especial the AEL button and the shutter speed scroll ..... one more thing is the grip is slightly shorter than the A350 making me doesn't felt so comfortable as A350 but again I really maybe ... wanted this for the performance by sacrificing the comfortness XD Added on December 10, 2009, 2:23 pmwingster: your gears, Sony HVL-F40AM???? do you mean 42? for your budget, i'd recommend for you to go for the 50mm either 1.7 or 1.8, and a flash, u could either go for the F58 or F42 if you're on a tighter budget
Added on December 11, 2009, 11:41 pmbut most of all, since you are still so new in photography, i'd always recommend to stick to your kit lens 1st and try to reach it's potentials 1st. then only you will know what's it's limitations and what are your real direction in photography, coz the kit lens covers from wide, mid and tele range quite comfortably. its a good kit to learn from compared to those 18-55 which would be a shorter range by a bit This post has been edited by lwliam: Dec 11 2009, 11:41 PM |

oh on the A200 -> A3xx upgrade, you only gain in live view and 4MP extra in the case of A350
marauderz, on the contrary, i dont recommend the F20 for low end bodies, its growing potentials are limited This post has been edited by lwliam: Dec 11 2009, 11:47 PM |

of course with the always-on strobes, u will see the shadow placement and can adjust the lighting appropriately before the shooting starts. but those strobes doesnt come cheap.

actually, my portrait was taken during the alpha convention, i was under one of the spotlights, single direction, camera left top down.. hence the strong shadows

QUOTE(Sp00kY @ Dec 14 2009, 10:25 AM) phew, i tot with flash also it will underexposed.... your camera's sensor does not have a wide enough dynamic range to cover these areas for bright and dark. normally, for that type of pics, its alright as long your subject is properly exposed, then the b/g doesnt really matter that much..flash in TTL should work but i always set my Flash EV to -1.0 or more for such situation... mcline_007: should be f/2.8 isit? unless you're speaking in technical terms, then yes, only a flash can remedy it. |

i think the lifespan of the flash lamp will decrease significantly if modelling light is used often
