QUOTE(Poadster @ Dec 4 2009, 03:15 PM) Ya.... but damn sad my photog skill not up to standard.... kept changing kit1870 and 50mm due to diff distances..... Need to go thre again tomolo... learn from the sifus... C u at Uncle Ho tomolo.... QUOTE(wha7ever @ Dec 4 2009, 03:52 PM) Sounds odd but indeed it has vignette on A300 + 18250. Probably that time I was using Hoya 62mm UV filter, hence there's vignette when screw in the adapter. Mine was a P series that holds 2 filter. poad: ur 1870 already got 50mm ma.. no need change la.. kasi a 1/16 powered flash and bounce it.. should be ok edi onewha7: no wonder la, u put another filter somemore, sure vignette d.. |

QUOTE(Soony @ Dec 5 2009, 12:32 AM) LoL.. yaya.. good filters doesnt only give you awesome qualities , it prevents the glass from pecah and doesnt reduce your image quality * though not visible * i think what u mean is zooming in by 1-2mm?Filters are like insurance , sort of a way to me though =) haha.. Well.. if you get vignette at 16mm , try stopping down a few stops , should be okay =) Added on December 5, 2009, 12:34 am The 30mm f1.4 isnt really sharp right? Never really had the chance to try it out but read that the 50mm f1.4 is way better for the bang of bucks rather than the 30mm.. which is quite disappointing. How much is this lens going at the moment? |

QUOTE(shootkk @ Dec 6 2009, 12:15 AM) To kill the ambient, close down the aperture and use a higher shutter speed. But I personally do not recommend going into HSS as HSS flash output greatly reduces the power and you may not be able to light your subject properly. QUOTE(Poadster @ Dec 6 2009, 01:33 AM) Finejava: The basement carpark is itself rather dark with flourescent tubes. shootkk, on the contrary, using HSS creatively does make your subject stand out more, if it werent for HSS, many of the basement pics would not work out. Setting: Flash Compensation: -2, Aperture Priority Mode: F11, Focal length: 50(ish)mm. The smaller aperture ensures that minimal light comes in, and the shutter remains fast for same purpose. The results is the lighted areas are bright, the background and unlit area remain dark. Flash compensation reduces the power of the built-in flash, and added distance between model and camera also lets the built-in flash's light disperse. If u look at one of the pics, you will see a carpark pillar on the left side of the frame. Hazril and ShootKK: Yup, no HSS used.... no need... Added on December 6, 2009, 1:36 amneo lam: where are the 4 wireless strobe shots?? poadster, when we were using the flash wirelessly, its already in HSS. i havent got my card reader/cable with me now, so my photos are still all in the cam. but been scrolling thru them whole night last night, damn syioks! |

QUOTE(Uzumaki NaruTo @ Dec 7 2009, 10:08 AM) Is it a normal thing when my f42 test button flashes red (overheating) ? Just have to wait for a while and then continue using it right? correct...Added on December 7, 2009, 11:11 ami forgot who was asking about my Minolta F28 the other day, sorry for late reply.. i think it was soony if not mistaken. my opinion is that, on a aps-c, its pretty versatile. only losing out when you feel like going wider. on FF, its pretty much spot on. but when in confined spaces, this lens is more forgiving than the 50mm, where when my buddies need to step back a lot (and there's no space to step back) i can comfortably snap away (ie: stage front, bday in a small room aka karaoke room where u want the cake and the bday boy in the pic.. 50mm cant do that) - it really depends on what you shoot. MFD is not that bad either with about less than 1ft distance. F2.8 of coz is not as bright as 1.7 or 1.8 or 1.4 for that matter, but it sure is brighter than the 3.5 on the kit. of course, u dont expect bokehs to match the brighter lenses. but being cheaper than the 50mm by a small margin, i dont really complain much. the 28 and 50 has been my kit lenses for a couple of months, they make a great pair. its not a filter, its a coating... thin film coating the lens element.
a filter is like a 1st line of defence from knocks and scratches |

its not that fair to compare the 1680 with the 16105 actually, its somehow in a different league to those who knows how to see it, but for those less experienced, the 16105 surely is better for its range and versatility

depends on whether u use more of the tele end or the wide end... tele, then apsc, if wide, then FF (but you would need FF lenses to do it justice, but then would cost you *another* bomb)
