Is the A550 body Made in Japan or Made in Thailand ?

albnok : Just wanna ask.. I got a 24-85mm Minolta lens that is having some focussing problem. Sometimes it's sharp, sometimes it's not. The distance indicator on the lens is also all off - you see the window but the indicator label moves all the way out of the window when the lens is focussing.

I suspect the gearings has some problems, can Cheah Camera fix it if I send it there?

Seng_Kiat: AWB will change to Flash WB when flash is attached. It is warm if your ambient light is warm or if you're bouncing off a wall that is not neutral (where will you find a truly neutral wall?)

wingster: You may want to adjust your WB to be cooler, and add some +EV to bring out the texture of the blacks.

All ALPHAs are planned to be manufactured in Sony Technology Thailand, and Sony HQ target is to make Bangkok as Alpha City. Its already started manufacturing A2xx/3xx cameras...

is the 135mm a prime lens and how good is it?

albnok : Sorry but I didn't notice you yesterday. I guess I was kind of zoned out then... was having a bad day yesterday.

Oh, I think I got a speck of dust somewhere on my A850 focussing screen. I can see it when I look in the viewfinder but it does not appear on the pic. I've tried blowing the mirror but the speck is still there. It is not on the viewfinder glass. Any idea how to clean it? It's just annoying to see it there when I look through the viewfinder.

Mikeshashimi: Yes it is a prime lens, and is one of the more famous and desired Zeiss lenses.

shootkk: It might be between your viewfinder and pentaprism. Lay your A850 on its back, lens mount facing up. Use a fingernail (screwdriver might scratch mirror if overshot) to lightly unlatch the viewfinder 'holder'. The holder and viewfinder screen will fold out, onto the mirror. Blow towards the pentaprism and on the back of the viewfinder.

To close it back, just tilt the camera so the viewfinder and 'holder' go back in place, then use your finger to lock it in.

haha..i got it during my night shift..already 1/2 dead after work(i slept 10hours for my first 2 off days..lol)..so wait until yesterday then got time go out..then wait for my gf to choose her outfit...zzzz..until 6+pm then reach the park..lol..took n few shot n the sun went down liao.. ..but well..glad that some of the shots works for u..


slight PP to remove noise..coz adobe camera raw make sony's raw very noisy by default..so no choice since i choose to use it..i gotta spend few more min to do some noise removal..

no i did not use layering..for most of the shot..what i did was pretty much the same..remove noise..adjust curves x 2(for highlight n shadow)..adjust the vibrancy..contrast and hue/saturation..

i think this shd b a fine lens..but the range is not really good on apsc body if u ask me....even u have a 1635cz but 28mm is just too long on apsc..no that practical

i think zaloon sell it around rm 690...
or maybe can be cheaper? sony prices was around 780

geezz... a700 grip was near 1k
