correct me if im wrong...for portrait..i notice that using long range the result is better than using close range most of the time(assuming the size of the model in the picture is the same)..the face usually looked more 3D from long range..and it looked flat when we shoot with wide lenses..

assuming we dont have constrain on the area to move around..i dont see y u cannot have the same size of the subject in the photo..nomatter 50mm or 200mm or 500mm..it is possible to get the same size..
