Planning on getting a Wireless X Box 360 Controller but when I called up Gamer's Hideout they said it was roughly RM200 + .

I'm quite sure I saw it somewhere else at RM 178 but can't remember where. Anyone got any suggestions on where to find the cheapest buy??

I'm too, curently looking for the Wireless Xbox 360 controller.

I initially thought the difference between normal Wireless Xbox 360 Controller and the Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for Windows is only the 1st doesn't come with a driver installer CD, but after Googled for more info, I believe other than the driver installer CD, they r not identical in terms of sales pack since the 1 meant for Windows needs a receiver using powered USB tht connects to the Windows based pc's USB port, thus I believe if Ur buying for Windows based pc, U should buy it together with the receiver included unless U already have wan since the receiver can supports more than 1 controller.

I think it is the receiver itself tht makes the Wireless Xbox Controller for Windows more expensive, if U already have the package bought and looking for a 2nd wireless controller, U only have to buy a normal Wireless Xbox Controller bcoz U only need 1 receiver.

Perhaps I should go 4 the wired controller I guess, cuz I still prefer to save more $$$ than to go wireless.

I'm not a Xbox 360 owner n never even played it, thus my experience with the console itself and it's accessories is Sdn. Bhd., so, correct me if U find I'm wrong.

Yes, that is correct. The windows version with the receiver is much more expensive. Usually around RM189 in Lowyat/Digital Mall.

Frankly, once u tried the wireless, i don't think you'll want the wired version....I suggest u go for wireless.

When you want to buy a second wireless, you just buy the XBOX version of the controller without the receiver...around RM130 to RM150 i think.

But how if the receiver kaput? It isn't sold separarely..... Vat a marketing tactic.... rclxub.gif

+ if U dunt want the controller become Ur pocket blood sucker in terms of battery consumption, U might rather go 4 either the Quick Charge Kit or the Play & Charge Kit, no clue how much is the Quick Charge Kit selling but the Play & Charge Kit would cost U ard MYR95, means if U r 2 get both the controller n the Play & Charge Kit, they would already cost U ard MYR284, well the setup cost 4 this type of wireless gamepad connection 2 PC is a way too X 4 me.

Means to say if Ur 2 go 4 wireless w/o the hassle of battery consumption, it would cost U : ard MYR284
But if U opt 4 wired, it would only cost U : MYR130 to MYR150.
Kindda significant difference to me.

Actually, you don't need the Charge kit....you can get very cheap alkaline batteries in TESCO and Carrefour. The TESCO alkalines are pretty good, Carrefour haven't tried. If you game 1 or 2 hours a day, i think it can last u 3 weeks or so. It only cost RM3 or so for 4 batteries. Alternatively, if you have rechargeable batteries and kits around, you can use those.

As for the receiver....yes, it's marketing technic, but i don't think receiver can get spoilt so easily, unless u are very unlucky. In the event of such unfortunate incident, just buy another pack and sell off the gamepad here in the XBOX360 forum...if u sell at RM100, sure got people buy. LOL.

Even if U put the force feedback to it's maximum, r the batteries going to last 3 weeks? Do U think using the Energizer rechargeable would b a good choice?

Depends how much u play lar...if u play 24/7, how do u expect 3 weeks!!! I also use TESCO alkaline..cheap and good...but recently seems like changed brand already...i think TESCO changed the OEM...
