I need to decided asap whether or not to get a Toshiba 42WL66E.

Panel Response Speed (ms):8
Viewing angle (Degrees): 178
HDMI

Does it support Xbox360? Is the contrast ratio too low? HDMI good for next few years?
Cuz initially mainly for Xbox360 & future PS3. Later for HD-DVD movie!

Reason I got a very good deal! Approximate Rm4900 (HSL selling RM7899 after discount)

It is 1080i only.
It is a bulk order. So I've been offer to place my order to tag along.

Never intend to get LCD TV so soon. Probably another 2 year in future. Then again, the price factor has tempted me to consider.

Since I am not so knowledgeable with LCD/Plasma TV, I need comment from all the brothers whether or not Toshiba 42WL66E Regza is a good buy. If the specs is not up to normal market standard or overprice, I won't get it now (tough price is attractive)

Check with one of the HSL salesman saying Toshiba is approaching more natural coloration.

Anyway, I have place my order and most likely will receive before CNY. Hope I didn't make a bad call. Can't wait to hook it up with my Xbox360. Gear of War & Lost Planet!!!!!

Thought I know this model only up to 1080i. But guess I could live with it due to the price factor. Doubt we could get LCD 42" with less than RM5000.00 with reputable brand for the next 2 years.

Base on my observation, side by side comparison between 1080i & 1080p show slight details difference.

Well, I have yet receive it. Just wanna clarify, if you read my previous post, I am getting Toshiba 42" with bulk order from friend with less than RM5000 and not from HSL. HSL is selling around RM7800.00 (you might get better deal if you search harder).


I've watch this tv with demo replay and astro channels from electronic shops and visually I'm very satisfy. FYI, if price is not a problem to me, I'll opt for Sony Bravia Series instead cuz they have better picture quality.

My friend's company got a construction project for hotels and purchasing TV is one of the bulk order item. That is why the price could come down so low. The order has close for now (previously I only got 1 day to decide ). My friend did mention there might be second bulk order but not firm with da decision. Will PM ya if I have any update

Just got my Toshiba Regza 42' HDMI LCD 2 days ago.
Watch 'ahem' DVD9 format disc and kind of dissapointed cuz of noticabe jagges. Guess I have to get either HD DVD or Blu Ray format in order to unleash the power within this TV. Wonder is there any difference with the picture quality of original full price DVD compare to 'ahem' DVD9 superbit format?

However, it rocks when it pair with my Xbox360. GOW looks awesome & the details of graphics just blown me away. The TV build in speaker sound is crisp and clear.
