i got one q here....
i wanna play my ps3 with LCD monitor..perhaps 19''

i have
ps3 and HDMI to DVI cable
before i buy a monitor with DVI input....a need to know....
is't all monitor with DVI input will be fine or work well? or i need to buy certain type of lcd monitor with DVI input to make sure it will work..
and if i'm using this HDMI to DVI cable, the sound will be carried along with video in this cable? true or not?
Then, if i'm using LCD monitor, is there any phone jack output at my monitor, so that i can listen the sound using headphone which is... it can be plugged into my lcd monitor socket for sound?? (my crt monitor got no phone jack output..haha)
sorry for my bad english..

anyone can help me please...
thanks

im planning to get an LCD for the HTPC setup, and my line ups are

32R81 Samsung (RM2.7K), 32A53M Sharp (RM3.3K), 32LC7R LG (RM2.6K)

so of which i ll be using a DVI-HDMI cable for view from my PC. so how is the R81 using DVI-HDMI? and does it use all the pixels (1366x768)?

hi all, i need some suggestion,
i'm using my ps3 on the dell 2407wfp-hc,
i can either choose the dvi or the component?
the dvi can support 1080p and the component support 720p,
but i am using the dvi input for my computer,
so if i have to use dvi i have to change everytime when i need to use,
if i use component so i dont need to change everytime, but it only support up to 720p,
so if is u ? which 1 will u choose?
dvi or component?

I'll go for dvi. I'll want to get the best PQ out. If switching is becoming such a hassle, go buy a switch box.

AFAIK, 2407wfp-hc support 1920x1200 right? wouldn't ps3 look a little bit stretch?

keke.. at last i choose the component, yah, the 2407wfp-hc support 1920-1200, so can use the full HD1080,
the stretch problem can be solve, just need to put the display setting - wide mode to "aspect", then it is 16:9,
i choose the component cable to my monitor the maximum it can only support up to 1080i,
so i put it to 720p, because the different between 720 and 1080 to me is only the font size show on the screen..
i would rather go for 720p, because it easier to read... smile.gif

I just came back from Tesco, they got this samsung 26 inch with HDMI, dun think it's 1080, but the price is great RM 1999.

It's good to see LCD tv price keeps falling to an affordable price smile.gif

Bose system looks nice with the small cubic speaker but the review so far is not good. Try getting a yamaha 5.1 system instead.

BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment tongue.gif

If you have in excess of RM3k to blow on sound equipment, I'd suggest you head over to Desa Home Theater or Tong Lee at Lowyat ground floor and have a look at brands like Yamaha, Denon, KEF, JBL, Infinity, etc. I haven't been there for quite some time so I wouldn't be able to recommend any specific models.

As for the LCD, you can get a 42" Full HD from Philips or Samsung for under RM10k. If you want something better then check out the Sharp Aquos A83 series which will cost you a few grand more.
