if the bb phone only has EDGE ... no 3G (phones like 8900 / 8250)

so tethering will only be through the phone's BIS EDGE only right?

My Q - would the speed be too slow if compared to 3G speed of normal usb broadband modem using 3G?

if u dont take BIS...u shudnt use BB bro...coz it'd be a useless BB phone without BIS

tried to tether using my Torch (i'm on Digi BIS unlimited plan - got it during the cheap promotion) and tethered via Digi 3G. Sadly, i wasn't that impressed despite the phone showing 3G full bars...page loading on the laptop was still kinda slow

so is this normal? i thought it could at least be on par with USB modems out there hmm

my tether speed with full bar Digi 3G is still slow...

would an update in firmware improve this? using Torch but haven't updated to the latest firmware actually
