Due to Digi's policy not to include tethering as part of their BIS unlimited plan, i had to sign-up another Digi 3G unlimited internet line RM58 + min rm30 voice plan. gonna use that to tether with my iPhone (need to jailbreak) if not i will use it on my Huewei USB modem.

But so far Digi service has been good, i might just port over my main line from maxis soon

this plan really caught my eye. was hoping i could use unlimited email anywhere, so can email with my gf in sg, replacing our IDD sms that actually cost up to about Rm100+ per month at least.

but then after what the TnC showed.. that its only free if the accesspoint is blackberry.net.. im having second thoughts..

is anyone using this DG smart plan paying ONLY rm58 for their bb usage? Im guessing blackberry.net APN isnt very accessible, or its laggy.. in the end we have to use their APN - diginet, no?

Bb users please share your experience! Really appreciate it guys.. thanks biggrin.gif

No, ALL BlackBerry services for all telcos in the world use the BlackBerry.net APN unless its for services it does not support like YouTube. Don't use diginet, use digistrm APN as officially stated by DiGi.
BlackBerry APN is what runs all your push services, it also compresses data, caches it, and optimizes it and is not laggy at all. It's what makes the BlackBerry device such a joy to use smile.gif

For your case I would think that having a BB would be appropriate. I have been using DiGi for the last 1 week and the speed is good, even faster than my streamyx this last few days.

With BB you can chat, email and use BB messenger with your loved ones anytime anywhere.

I am posting this using my BB while waiting for my hair cut.

YES, as long as it is unlock, you can use with any telco. However, do note certain models have issues with Celcom and Maxis. For example Storm 2 Model 9550 (which is a CDMA model). Read the threads here to get more info.

DiGi's 58 bucks plan is 3G compatible, no extra charges - but of course you only gonna get 3G IF your BlackBerry is capable of doing 3G la smile.gif

I am currently on Digi BIS using a bold 9700. I have tested surfing online with 3G and EDGE, and there is only a very slight difference in speed and in most cases, the speed difference is hardly noticeable at all.

Unless you plan on using your phone for Tethering then should should get the one with 3G connection. However take note that DIGI BIS does NOT cover tethering and you will be charge.

Actually this is a good question. I am wondering the same as well. Maybe someone with the same experience could answer...but this is what i think..

Since the BBM messaging exist only because of BIS, I am not sure if there is charges for "roaming BIS" or if there is, how much it would be...
