Just to share my experience with YLOD and sengwee.

I bought my PS3 just over 3.5 yrs ago. About 3 weeks back, the PS3 suddenly switched off while my son was playing his fav game (COD Black Ops). He switched the machine back on and was able to continue playing for a while more. A coupla days later, he was playing some football game and the same thing happened. Next day, the machine couldn't power up. To be specific, when the power button was pressed, the machine's power light was green but very soon after it turned to yellow/light-green followed by 3 beeps before it turned red and the red was blinking. Powered down and tried to power up again; same thing. I then Googled and it was the first time I had read about this YLOD thing.

Googled a bit more and found this thread. Contacted bro sengwee, we met at LeisureMall and I gave him my machine. He contacted me the next day saying my machine was fixed.

It's been about 2 weeks now. Fingers crossed. If YLOD again, I may contact sengwee for a second fix but I may also decide to just buy a slim 160G.

He started playing console games around 7-yo when I got a PS2 for him When I was 7-yo, I only play marbles!

Honestly really hoping your repair will last me a while, because I am undecided whether to get a slim PS3 (which I hear also gets YLOD) b4 my current Fattie gets another YLOD, or if I should just wait and wait and see what the console scene is like... sommore I just bought my son Crysis2 which will mean the PS3 will get stressed ler...
