Suddenly, two men who claim to be subordinates of her dead father appear and demand that she assume command of the space pirate ship Benten Maru. According to the privateer ship's compact that was made during a war of independence a century ago, the ship must be inherited by the captain's next direct descendant. Marika finds herself embarking on a new life as a space pirate.

lol, the name has been changed to Moretsu Uchu Pirates (Hard-working Space Pirates, Workaholic Space Pirates). and considering this is by Satelight, I'm expecting Shinkai-esque space visual.

Even Gundam show comes with battleship transformation nowadays. Aquarion EVOL has more Vandread feel though, 'gattai' between male and female is forbidden... tongue.gif

Hugh & Dolittle Trading Company -> Dr Dolittle written by Hugh Lofting?
Serenity Royal Family + DAT HAIR -> Sailor Moon?

Also, there is a character in the yacht club named "kobayashimaru". Star Trek reference?
