I just got this game and many of my matches (Except for 1 match, free for all) have had 3 bars of ping, no 2 bars and sadly no 4. But the lag isnt THAT bad.

Was I just lucky when I played? Or have more people bought the game?

3 bars is 100-200ms... if you can live with it, enjoy the game.

(This isn't a sarcastic post, btw. I know, surprising for me, right?)

And to be more detailed (and quite fair), things have somewhat become less shitty since I wrote my MP review, although stilll pretty bad compared to other FPS shooters :/

I was in that game too but having a lagless(or less laggy) game is not uncommon to me

the only way to get 4 bars is to invite all yer friends in the game....then there will be chance tht yer friend might get selected as host.

I'm using wireless broadband, so basically is quite lag due to ping spikes, especially raining heavy last night. Having hardtime connecting to even Steam.

But on whole Sunday afternoon and night my ping is ok, and is playable on 3bar onward, gotten 4 bar once. but to me the 2 bar is still ok ok to play since is just lag spikes, so i will just hide somewhere to camp it out. since then my playing style was to outsmart and flaking enemy and that quite enjoyable way of playing it with lower pings.

But warn u guys with low ping dun whore the FAMAS too much, i having hardtime killing cause FAMAS damage is very low. But i have hell of a time gain all those long distance kill from famas superb accuracy while i sneak and flank.

famas with stopping power that saved me from being pwn kau kau due to lags. Still working my way to getting the bling.

However, now focus on leveling my SCAR-H because sometime need the extra damage instead of the accuracy due to lags in certain larger maps.

LMGs with stopping power killing all even with lag..just burst all the ammo...

I can't compare the lag...and the only lag problem is melee attacks, when 3 bars sometimes....the target will run away because of the lag. but if see killcam, the melee is slower because longer time register it.

If you hit, you hit, even if the target runs away, he dies. The only thing latency does is if you die within the intervening time, you obviously don't get credited with the knife connecting.

I.E. if the target 'ran away' with 300ms, he would have run away with 10ms as well.

Believe me, I know what I'm talking about. (See: knife movie, scope headshot post regarding antilag)

You know how sometimes the game completely locks up for a second or two when you try to knife someone? That's the two above points in tandem when the game is too lagged out and antilag can't even decide where to put you (since melee lunge is one of the only functions in the game that moves your character based on server positioning) - This happened in CoD4 too. Barring that, other than the delay between the knife animation and hit blip, the hitreg is identical between low pings and high pings, not just for melee but all non-projectile weapons (geek techterm is hitscan) as well.

In fact the game actually works slightly in favor of high-ping players, because when you're against them you die more often AFTER taking cover just due to them having shot you where you were 300-500-(whatever)ms ago from when you died.

You're going to kill me

e: no, the title isn't "you're going to kill me", just the fact that whenever someone asks me about something music related and I reply with DJMAX music... (this isn't any exception)
