Went to Chengdu & Jiuzhaigou last November 2012.. we took 10hours bus ride from Chengdu. Beautiful scenery along the way.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « @Jiuzhaigou; we stay at Qingke Hostel around 2-3km from the park entrance. Tibetan design, very nice. RM40 per room (off peak rate). new room, 2 comfortable beds. water heater. bed heater. less 1km got halal restaurant (yay!!).. from hostel to park entrance you can take public bus RM2.50 per way. or can take taxi too... pls take in-park shuttle bus. because each attraction is quite far. CAUTION ! CONTAIN "POISON" » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « @Chengdu; we stay at Sims Cozy... very nice hostel. the front desk is really helpful. I would give 5stars to the front desk. the little problem is the toilet is quite far from the room.. or just ask for room near the toilet.. hehe. I have to run from toilet to our room because "cannot tahan sejuk" hehe.. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Jinli Street @ Chengdu is also not bad, even it a fake ancient town but it look real and near to town. you can go by public bus. RM1 each way. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I prefer to arrange my trip all by myself. I even cant speak mandarin. (okay my mandarin is really2 basic). It quite easy actually to do DIY arrangement without travel agent. your trip will be more fun and adventure. I feel safe in China. Even when you travel solo. QUOTE(spiderwick @ Jan 20 2013, 10:16 PM) Wow really nice photos make me feel tempted the place is already beautiful, you don't have to be a good photographer... you photo will turn out just fine How much u spent for ur trip bro n how many days? But if im bringing my mum, think difficult to do diy... hurmm... actually me and my friend overland to Chengdu all the way from KL., So I cant give you the exact budget because we cross various places before reach Chengdu and Jiuzhaigou. Ok roughly. Chengdu-Jiuzhaigou 10hours by bus is RM74x2ways. = RM148 Accomodation @ Qingke Hostel RM20 per person 2nights. = RM40 Meals around RM20 per day x 3 days = RM60 Jiuzhaigou offpeak entrance RM40 (one day pass) + in park shuttle bus RM40. = RM80 Transportation public bus + taxi for 3D2N around RM20. total for Jiuzhaigou trip from Chengdu = RM348/person. The easier and fastest way is via air which is 1hour (which is an expensive way). they have an airport and located 80km from the national park. so you can take domestic flight from Chengdu or other airport. and take a shuttle/taxi straight to the Jiuzhaigou area. But if your mum can hold 10 hours bus ride (which is not bad, they stop once every 3-4hours), why not... I think it won't be that difficult. you can always use taxi to go here & there instead of using public bus... public bus in Chengdu is quite reliable. |

QUOTE(moko82 @ Jan 21 2013, 09:32 AM) the peak season spring, summer and autumn.. I went during winter which is off-peak season (starting mid-nov). its still beautiful. best part you can play with the snow.. less crowded and cheaper entrance and accommodation. Mostly people go in the autumn when the leaves changing color and the temperature get colder. This post has been edited by zaff1984: Jan 21 2013, 09:40 AM |
