As usual Sumber Auto is packed. Everytime also packed one. Think they need a bigger place and more staffs. Everytime I service my car there then to fall asleep at the SC after complete reading newspaper, magazine.

The back spoiler is called the duck tail spoiler. Price variance on which type you want.
*
U service there??? I did my 40k there, I don't like the service ppl there.. Quite "lan c"... Tenaga Setia better, found some of my Team City kaki there... Some ppl also came up to me and ask me out bout my car modifications hehe smile.gif

Hi,
just to say hi.
After reading through 5 versions of postings I've decided to share abit.  blush.gif

I'm currently driving 5G City Manual.

I travel about 100km per day between sending my wife to work, going to work, going to pick her up and then going home.

I've tried different brands of petrol so far.

I average a fuel consumption of 14-15km/ltr.
My highest recorded is 17.55km/ltr with Caltex.

I'm currently still running the stock wheels 185/55/16.
Looking to upgrading to 17" rims, looking to go for 205/45/17, just wondering, anyone has any idea what kind of wheel offset you are using? willing to share? +45 or +40, which one is a better choice?
*
Honda City 5G got manual meh?? tongue.gif

I forsee that FC will suffer once I upsize to 17, and pickup will be affected as well, but then again, since I'm running long distances, I hope it doesn't go down too much. smile.gif

I'm looking to change to Hankook V12 Ventus, since I think I can't fit S1 Evo 215/45/17.

Added on January 27, 2010, 10:50 pmAren't those chains usually installed on trucks/lorries, especially fuel tankers, to avoid sparks from static?
*
Bro, I'm using 205/40/17 for my City... I don't think City can use 215/45/17.. Will kena fender.. 205/45/17 also no good as full load will have problem.. The tyres I am using is S1 Evo, who said don't have?? Good tyres, cornering 120 km/h also can... Better than most Michelin and Bridgestone tyres cause the price is cheap but it is UHP tyre... I can give u link for comparison test...

My Myvi using 195/50/15 Hankook V12, silent and good also... Cornering also good but not as good as S1 Evo.. V12 more for comfort..

My 195/50/15 is RM 175 per tyre and 205/40/17 is RM 275 per tyre.. Changed it at Klang, rims and tyres heaven.. Friend's shop, so damn cheap.. Much better than stock tyres, Goodyear NCT 5 or NHC Goodyear Excellence, which are rubbish tyres... 185/55/16 weird size some more... Cheers smile.gif

p/s : Bro, join Team City forum www.myteamcity.com

Many sifu there, here only talking bout FC and tinting lah, new car lah.. etc... No performance mods... Some of Team City members heavy mod the 5G city.. tongue.gif Poison u..

I went to ask here, the S1 Evo they don't have 205/40/17 leh.

wouldn' using 205/40/17 mean the car is actually travelling slower than what the speedometer says? 205/45/17 gives it a closer reading.
I'm checking against this site http://www.wheelsmaster.com/rt_specs.jsp for information.

How much is the S1 Evo you got?
*
U r from Singapore or Malaysia??

I already said my tyre is RM 275 per piece.. I am driving 4.5G City.. Original is 185/55/15.. I assume u are driving the new City?? Original is 185/55/16 or 175/65/15 then...

205/40/17 gives better reading as it is within the 3% rule.. 205/45/17 is more than 5%..

Anyway I read from fellow members that changing to 17" no pick up and very high FC for 5G... 120 - 140 km for half tank.. That person using 205/45/17 and regretted...

For my 4.5G it is ok, cause the V-Tec open earlier... If go uphill, 6.5 k RPM.. Haha... Full tank still can go 300 km+..

My rims is Lenso Samurai SC 06.. Very light, 7 kg only..

hheheheh... me from Sillypore.
yah, um driving 5G city, original stock is 185/55/16 that's why based on that calculation i come to conclusion to 205/45/17
wow, such a big drop in fuel economy ah..
i used the site to calculate and 205/40 gave a 2.3% drop while 205/45 gave a 1% increase... interesting to note that such a small change in the configuration results in such a huge difference in the FC.
*
I love Singapore!! No problem bro...

I think for 5G is 205/45/17 as more accurate readings.. The bigger the tyre, need to make sure the configuration is correct.. The bigger the rim, heavier and need more power to move.. Sure lose pick up and FC... I've seen Myvi using 18", crazy.. Haha...

Anyone who is considering to get a honda, you should avoid MH Prestige Auto at all cost.

The sales manager, yeah, the manager not the sales agent, simply give your car to other people despite the fact that you had paid for the downpayment and all the insurance documents done.

At one point, rushing you to pay the downpayment, another point, give your car to other people..shakehead.gif

One hell of a service.. mad.gif
*
I got my Honda City from there.. Who is your salesman?? I got a very good salesman. He helped me to tender my number plate, always follow up on my car.. Everytime I go there, he will greet me and very friendly...

I bought it at Klang, friend's shop. RM 1,500 for 17" rims... RM 275 per tyre x 4 = RM 1,100... Total RM 2,600 lor.. Hehe

Mine is Hyper Black.. Got silver and other colours as well.. smile.gif

interesting... i'm looking for 16", also not going for 215... just 195 will do, can recommend the shop?

yours is E or S spec?

by the way... 215 will affect the pickup? mine is the 2008 VTEC... after changing to 195 from 185... felt the pickup a bit... slow... like engine sound loud but car didn't move that much tongue.gif
*
Mine is neither E or S.. Mine is 4.5G...

I don't think City can use 215 unless u knock the tyres there... Max is 205.. Of course change wider tyres will affect pickup.. But cornering definately will be better and more stable.. smile.gif

If u wan 16", get 205/45/16..

Ei? got 4.5G? mine's the VTEC version just before they launched the 5G city...

sorry, i read wrongly... i thought 215 tongue.gif

i think 195 is already quite stable... 185 stock is wobbly tongue.gif
but 45... bumpy or not?
also... how's the pickup? smile.gif
Mine is also 2008 car, the facelift of the 4G... In built antenna and in built CD player, honey comb grille, water repellent seats etc...

I don't think our City can use 195 for 16".. Use 205 better lah... More sizes available.. 205/45/16 many brands..

45 is considered low-profile tyres so might be bumpy for some people... For me, I am using 40 quite bumpy... Our City suspension quite stiff so quite bumpy.. Different people got different tolerance for bumpiness.. Will be quite noisy also if use 40 or 45 series..

Pickup of course slower a bit compared to 185 or 195... But will be very stable... Corner can take 120 km/h, more confidence... Hehe smile.gif

Nice nice. What's the size? 17 incher? Btw if u change the rim, will it void the warranty?
*
17" rims with 205/40/17 tyres.. My car just passed the 40k warranty period.. Some SC are not so strict on the warranty issue.. Depends which SC u go to..

Lenso rims not so easy to dent lah.. It is 7 KG, not less than 5 KG.. I've been using it since August 2009, no dents yet (touch wood!!)

I like this design very much cause it makes the rims look big. Also when your car is moving, the rims spinning like a fan...

Got 2-3 Team City members using this rim as well.... Hehe smile.gif

N*gg* please!! Honda City is entry level car lah!! Please dont expect Honda Civic or Honda Accord quality!! U pay RM 90k for overpriced car!! Lol.. That's why I read the Myvi forum also ppl complain this and that. Haiya, please!! Myvi is only RM 50k entry level car and not Toyota or mini turbo car!! Everyone thought buy Myvi is like buy Toyota, no problems and super built quality..

Actually I dont see any improvement of the new Honda City over the previous 1.. The old 1 CVT engine is smooth, quiet and powerful.. FC also good... I dont see why increase RM 5k... The previous one got in-built antenna also.. My colleague just collected his new Honda City, radio sound got problem... Tell the SC, say it's like that... What crap! The only good thing bout new Honda City is nicer front only... smile.gif

Real Toyota or real Honda is those AP cars... Dual VVTI or big V-Tec....

If u want good sound insulation, get Kia Forte or Hyundai Elantra.. Test drive it.. Even Singapore now Korean cars went up to number 2 already.. Honda and other Japanese cars sales all drop 9 9 last year... Market share drop like gila while Korean cars increasing.. Only Malaysia mentality still same lor, Japanese cars best, what to do?? smile.gif

*
U posted in Team City also right?? U should ask those 5G sifu there.. PM them.. There are some that got ganas bodykit... Shouldn't cost more than RM 2k after spray... My 4.5G Mugen bodykit only RM 1250 including spray.. PU quality... Damn cheap and good quality

Been driving my NHC for 4 days...older City FC is better and the gear is smoother...

Old City V-Tec CVT > NHC "5" gears...

There was a saying last time, once u drive a car with CVT, u won't get used to another car with normal auto gear jerking changes.. CVT very smooth and power delivery very nice tongue.gif

Once I got my City, drive back Myvi, feel not comfortable and not used to it..

If can get new car, will get Nissan Slyphy or Mitsu Lancer for the CVT smile.gif

i agree with the first sentence. the one where you won't get used to the conventional gearbox

I like CVT. i like the smoothness and the way you can rev it. but, and this is a very big but, nothing beats the pull of a conventional gearbox. cause when u change gears, you drop back into the torque band and you feel the surge. IMHO CVT is not so good for spirited driving la
*
That's where the 7 speed comes in.. Put to "S" mode and manually downshift the gears to 6.5K RPM and u feel the acceleration boost.. The feeling of "push back to seat" feeling or "open v-tec" smile.gif
