what I meant was, let's say I have a iPhone 2G under maxis plan now, and my friend has a iPhone 3G under maxis plan. If both of us upgrade to iPhone 3GS with maxis today, does it cost the same for both of us? or will he get a cheaper price, since his phone is next gen compared to mine?
