QUOTE(kianweic @ Dec 15 2010, 06:13 AM) No don't need that. Especially with game specific wiki these days. Easier and faster than Prima Guide. I've been to the Just Cause Wikia. It sucks ass.

I rather spend buying real physical guide books in bookstore than paying Prima Guide. Those Walkthrough/Secrets, etc can so easily be found digitally in internet nowadays.

Usually I just use the web browser in Steam to search for walkthrough and FAQs.

Strategy guides are so 80's I also use online wikis or gamefaqs if I need, Steam online browser is good for that, easy to access just doind shift+tab and no need to do a full alt+tab. Issues with most guides is that they do not bring much more than something you can find for free online and sometimes they are simply outdated since the game got patched and some stuff could have changed since they got printed

Just Cause 2 Dev Expects New Consoles By 2014QUOTE Last week, Avalanche Studios opened a brand-new studio in New York City for “next generation” game development. Edge asked Avalanche New York managing director David Grijns when exactly he expected the next generation of consoles to begin, with Nintendo’s Wii U being the first system out of the gate.
"We obviously talk to everybody, and everybody talks to us," he said. "We have some intelligence to go on that, by early 2014, we're pretty sure there'll be at least one next-generation console on the market."
"When we say 'next-gen' in the press release, it's really a reference to what we think the market will look like then. Anyone who says they know what the market is going to look like three years from now is just blowing smoke. Whatever happens, we feel very confident that we'll be ready for it,” Grijns explained.
While Just Cause 2 was a graphically impressive title, graphics aren’t the focus of the studio heading into the future.
"I don't think the industry needs better-looking games: I think it needs better games," said Avalanche NY co-founder Christofer Sundberg. "If there is a way to push the bar in a few years then that's fine, but the looks of games these days are so good that they don't need to look better.
"What is more interesting is the ways that developers and publishers can find new ways of designing games - and more interesting gameplay and distribution models - rather than better-looking games,” he said. Source: Industry Gamers

Erm, i recently bought Just Cause 2 on steam during the Summer Sale, and just got around playing it today
At launch, I got no audio from when the character spoke and well, the mood killer was, i was unable to deploy my chute when i was free-diving after getting the PDA from the dead soldier. Anyone else ran into this issue?
Added on July 24, 2011, 2:20 amoh bloody hell, a verification showed there was a 450mb chunk missing >.> probably that's what causing it

Just Cause dev Avalanche "not releasing any game in 2012"QUOTE Sorry but that rumour of Just Cause 3 blowing up another island tyrant next year just isn't true, says creator Christofer Sundberg of Avalanche Studios.
The Swedish developer is "not releasing any game" in the year 2012, although they've got two "huge" projects and 2013 is their destination of choice.
"It's just a rumour and we're not releasing any game in 2012," affirmed Christofer Sundberg. Sources allegedly close to Avalanche spilled that Just Cause 3 was in the works and due for launch next year - well it seems they aren't that close after all.
Earlier this year Avalanche revealed they're busy with two "huge" projects at their Swedish digs and that they're aiming for a 2013 window for both. It's very likely that just Cause 3 is among their number as it sells like hot cakes and scores rather well.
Do you enjoy a bit of shameless fire starting in Just Cause, videogamer? Avalanche Studios has just released Renegade Ops and is opening a New York City studio this year. Source: Strategy Informer

Just Cause devs announce AAA title "Project Mamba" QUOTE Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios has announced their next project, and it isn't a new Just Cause game. Instead, it's "a AAA title due on PC and console platforms in 2014", and called "Project Mamba".
The game is being developed at the developer's new New York City-based office, with former Activision and Atari executive David Grijns in charge. The office is a custom-designed 10,000 square foot facility centered in Manhattan's SoHo district, with an option on a further 3000 square feet for future expansion. The developer plans to hire 50 more workers in the next 12 months.
Avalanche founder Christofer Sundberg beamed, "Today is a great day for Avalanche Studios as we have achieved yet another goal by establishing a new studio in the greatest city in North America. We are one of the few independent, AAA-budget studios remaining in the world after the disastrous economic recession of the last few years. While this was a huge wake-up call for everyone in our industry, we have prepared for this expansion for over three years and it is a great feeling to execute our plans with such resounding success."
