In fact there are many good brand out there other then Paradox Alarm. Other then the hardware cost, you will need to pay a little more to get a better installer. Installing an alarm system can be an easy task which every wireman can do, but maintaining it (false alarm, malfunction,...)might require ppl with experince/skills.

Hi,
I have been using it for quite sometimes. It is really very power alarm system. We buy the alarm from lelong.com and the video installation guide from www.waabay.com and installed our self during renovation. This save lots of money $$$. I love it so much !!

using paradox also. installation done by MMC. service was pretty good - they did a lot of finetuning and the system is really complex. so many things you can set i think i still dont know how to harness its full potential. its very very reliable, no defects so far. just one small problem in the past years where i called the importer and they fixed my setup on the spot (no charge, mind you). i especially like their petsafe perimeter sensors. once setup properly, you pretty much never have a false alarm. only once or twice a family of musangs triggered it. can link to security company, make the unit call you or your balai polis around the corner....

i think personally i'd buy it again but it's indeed one of the pricier options.

Yup.

FYI paradox or supa8 etc is a brand normally just for the control panel/system. the individual unit ie sensor, detector, siren etc mostly taken from china or taiwan where they are mass produced there.

Guys, if you go to Paradox website, on the main page, on the right side, you will find "Counterfeit Notice" and "Find Your Distributor" - you will notice that Malaysia has NO authorized distributor.

My question is, if there is no authorized distributor in Malaysia, where does this Paradox alarm system comes from?

Btw, are you guys assemble the camera as well?

Hi Bafukie,

Can you share your setup and price with me as I am about to commit the SP6000 SP Spectra model. I am also from Penang, so we can compare. Before I go and pay, I would like to know if the quoted price is reasonable. Below are the quote given:

Paradox SP6000
15 magnetic sensors
4 vibration sensors
2 keypad
1 Internal Siren
1 External Siren
1 Control Panel

Installation with hidden in wall with piping. No hacking as done while the house is being built.

RM3,910.00

Thanks for sharing

Authorize paradox dealer as I called to paradox kl to confirm.

Hi Bafukie,

Thanks for the feedbfeedback.Your wiring will be done during construction of the house which means no hacking or the price include hacking?

Mine is a 3 storey terrace. I think maybe the extra cost comes from the pvc piping and hacking to fit the piping. Also the extra keypad need additional wiring? And 3 storey have to hack up the stairs more.

Which company in Penang? I Checked Belco site in KL, the alarm set only cost RM880.00. Seems the labor is more expensive than the system.

Mine is under renovation so hacking is not a problem. Just I didn't do PVC conceal piping except on my second floor roof. Price inclusive of everything from hacking to conceal back to installation n settings. I highly suggest u to call paradox Malaysia hq in kl. they can direct u to their official dealer nearest to ur place. My house is in bm. Gonna update with pics later.

Yalor, smore it has tollfree no. wor...

Coz i called Stratel and they confirm KedaiCCTV is their authorized dealers and its genuine product...

Compare to belco pricing on base unit only (no installation)....
http://www.belcosecurity.com/webshaper/sto...at.asp?catID=16
They listed Spectra 5500 bundle for RM800.
For Spectra 4000, it's RM150 cheaper compare to Spectra 5500.
As for alarm points, was told about RM40-60 per point, running casing...
Since its bundle with 10 points, take middle RM50 per point = RM500.
Bundle package RM800 - 150 for Spectra 4000 = RM650
Hmm... seems doable...
Tat y i wanna know, anybody used them b4 & how's their svc.

Too bad, each time after sales svc, they will chrg RM80 per trip.

According to Paradox website:
1. SP4000 is 4 zones panel with support for doubling. Mean 1 physical input wire become 2 zones. (Total 8 zones).
2. K636 has 1 zone on the keypad. Not sure if support doubling.
3. K636 keypad looks old school. I think the K10H looks better. lol...

Belco price for SP4000 come with K10H, 5x shock sensor, 3x magnetic sensor. RM700
1 shock sensor = RM8
1 magnetic sensor =RM4.50

I think KedaiCCTV dare throw price coz they will most likely charge for after sales service (when they visit your house). If do lousy job, they keep coming back, have to pay again and again?
If do good job, then can have a peace of mind.

It really goes down to picking a good installer whom may charge a bit more, but can do proper job and after sales service. If after sales service jialat, call Paradox distributor to complain about installer?

I need free onsite REASONABLE quotations for the followings (preferably someone who can do all):
1) Wired alarm system,
2) CCTV - 8 channels
3) Gate auto system

Location at Seri Kembangan.

At first I thought of KedaiCCTV...but after reading this thread, I hesitated if there is 'after sales service charges' for each false alarm or problems that surfaces after installations.

Ok... Mine cost almost half compared to urs. Double storey semi d with total 25 contact/vibration sensor. The rest same as urs except 1 keypad. Conceal wiring (no piping) except for roof.

Authorize paradox dealer as I called to paradox kl to confirm.

hye fellas, i had been using paradox since 3 years back in 2011, very satisfy with the canadian technology, cheap and same quality compare to ADT and no monthly commitment fees. before this at my mama's home had been install china made alarm , i forget the brand, use only 9 month , trouble already.

so, for my new house, i try deal with kedaicctv, my friend recommend them to me, first thing i rather doubt , i call stratel, paradox main distributor in malaysia, then they confirm that kedaicctv is their genuine installer , so i try them , since install in 2011 with them, no problem with the paradox alarm, one time only problem, my telephone line problem, the alarm cannot call out, but when technician kedaicctv come, and help fix it with making call with tm, the problem settle ,then kedaicctv bill us rm80 , i just pay and happy for the service. why i just pay? i think they deserve to charge because they give time and service support to me if compare to my mama's home installer, not even pickup hp and divert call. so, rm80 nothing compare to peace of mind =).

so i promote their service to my office mate, since 2012 till now, 3 of my office mate install cctv, alarm and autogate with kedaicctv.com , kedaicctv give commision to give me rm100 per package. total i get rm600 so far for recommend 3 package cctv, 1 package alarm and 2 package autogate. pretty cool isn't? you can check at their website now, column, "tell friend and earn money" .

Hi guys

Does anyone have contact for a reliable after sales service guy for Paradox?

The guy who installed it for me gives bad after sales service. Technically he is OK and can settle problem when he shows up, but it is a nightmare contacting him and hoping for his response.

Got Paradox Alarm installed for my double storey semi-d somewhere in 2006. Till now it is still working fine. I thankfully haven't experienced break in. I hope I never do. I received 3 quotations during renovation and I chose the most expensive/ reputable one. The zones were properly planned and the cables are brand new. No looping no joining cables. The company is EE Automation 016 - 639 2272.

That is why I always choose/ pay high prices and go with reputable contractors. Malaysians always say "you pay peanuts you get monkeys". rclxms.gif

My contractor can do Alarm, CCTV and Autogate. His price not the cheapest, but he has full spare parts and technical know how. One shot settle all your problems. Call him at 012-4058791 his web: https://www.eeautomation.com.my

He has a strong after sales support team.

Got a quote for Paradox 8 Zones + K32LCD + CMS calling our phone function + many magnetic / Vibration sensors (RM2.8K )
wireless receiver module plus 3 remote (RM1K)
Internet IP reporting (RM500)
Paradox NV780 Digital outdoor dual side sensor (RM650)

All in for about RM5K.

As all windows and door have vibration / magnetic, my only concern is Roof area. What you have done to protect the roof area?

Can't remember which sensor exactly was used by my installer... more than 5 years ago already but i think its the dual opposed motion sensor.
These days got more canggih sensors, mine was quite basic back then. You can check out their sensor specs on the paradox website

An alarm people told me that Paradox motion sensor is not good to install outdoor as it is affected by moderate winds. Strong wind will be worst. Was told that when moderate winds, it will cause false alarm. Is this true? If this is not true, which motion sensor of Paradox are good for outdoor and at reasonable price? Thank you.

Never experience it b4. Have very strong wind but no alarm generated.Could not understand of his concept of strong wind generate alarm as it is a motion sensor.Had installed a number of 75+ motion sensor and all are fine.

But the so called claim pets weight above 40Kg to trigger alarm is over rated/false.Had countless experience of birds passing tru flapping the wind and it trigger the alarm.

Yes it is important to get someone who is experience n provide good after sales service. In JB avoid Maxcon, maximum conman.

By the way how u guys prevent break in from the roof? NOwadays with most houses protect by alarm system, burglers are coming in from the roof.

Or you can look for the NVR780 for your 1st defence. Before the intruder can even go into your home boundary.

Paradox meaning:
A statement or situation that may be true but seems impossible or difficult to understand because it contains two opposite facts or characteristics

I didn't even know it can send SMS. Maybe different model. Mine is K10H. I followed the user manual trying to bypass the problematic zone but it didn't work. Early this morning the false alarm woke up the entire household again. cry.gif My sensors are all indoors and quite narrow for any cicak or lipas to crawl in between.
