Hi mates, I got mine yesterday and I went to try out very late at night because my streamyx went haywire yesterday till midnight. Anyway, let me describe what I encounter with MW2 yesterday.

1. Installation
MW2 has perhaps the most troublesome installation of all the games I have played. You will need to get internet to install Steam and depending how fast is your connection; you spend about 1hrs to 30 mins updating your Steam. And then when you are done, you will need to register for a Steam account(duh) and spend another 20-30 mins installing you game. The ugly thing with the installation was that I could not customize any of my installation which resulted in me installing the game in my local C despite having an alarming small number of space left in the HDD. Fortunately though, the DVDs were well made and there were less trouble after they start installing into my HDD. I stated installing at 12.20 am and finally ended at about 1.15 am I think.

2. Single player.
To be honest, I jumped straight to Multiplay before this but I think I will describe the SP first. The very first thing I noticed was that they finally made the game loading more smoother than COD4 and COD:WAW. No more broken audio while loading unlike I encountered in COD4 and WAW. And when I started playing, I felt that the gameplay is way more fast pace than the previous CODs. You will find yourself running and jumping around trying to get cover as the AIs are slightly more brutal even at regular level. I remember I was playing hardened a certain map where I was killed continuously from people standing on rooftops. Took me a while before I change back to regular....I haven't finish the game but I think single player wise there shouldn't be any disappointment.

3. Multiplay
So lets get to the burning question, is the Multiplay playable with IW.NET? The answer is yes and no. Why yes? I was running on a 512kps broadband(screamyx yea; don't want cut) so I was expecting that I will have a lvl99 teleportation skills within the game. I was wrong. Although I have a 1-3 bar line, overall I was playing well against players from Australia. It was not so bad but you really need to plan ahead to make sure that you make the fire first not them. I have to say most gamers are probably casual gamers without speakers. I caught them a lot of times at their backs and killed them while I was staying prone with a M4.

The grey thing about the multiplay was perhaps the pace of the game. Most of the time, you will find out that most perks works and what really matters was if you are camping or rushing. And because the games I played thus far has been like fighting blitz with Germans, I unconsciously did not pay attention to perks like I did in COD 4. Instead, I just grab any weapon I am comfortable with and start running/shooting. Also, unlike COD4; there are hell a lot more covers in the maps. It was plain fun.

What I probably did not like the multiplay was lack of control over the room like voting and kicking. Also, I was baffled that they removed the usual shout commands/response/status from the game. I was playing domination and from time to time I wanted to shout for reinforcement but typing is such a hassle. So, in the end; IW:NET works BUT I think they will need to spend a hell a lot more time refining the system and yes IW:net does cater towards casual gamers not usual hardcore players. I think to draw more competitive play(because I felt the multiplay a bit like arcade but still its fun smile.gif ); dedi server should be placed back as an option to help ease connection issues; thus making the game more challenging.

4. Co-op
Erm no I have not tried it out yet but I saw the list of mission line up. If you have a friend to play with you, you guys can do co-op for the whole day.

5. Audio can graphics
Loading is notably more faster than its predecessors(as mentioned) but it looks stunning. What I thought about this was that they simply the object rendering used in COD4/WAW but were clever enough to arrange it in such a way that the surrounding look spectacular.

Audio wise, they came out with a number of BGM remixes from the original COD4 which is in fact well done. My complain however is their choice of voice actors. Maybe its just me but I did not like Soap VA. He sounded like an old man who blow bagpipes in the last 5 years.

Conclusion
I decided to stop playing at 5.30 am(have to work hehe) and spent 2 hours on SP and 2 hours on Multiplay in total. Overall the games is good but I thought that they should work more on multiplay department AND a better installation software. Is it worth my RM219? That depends on you, if you like it buy it if not just look around for another game(and no, I don't regret getting my copy). Although I have to say this, " It felt like I am playing Killzone 2 on a PC, lawl."

ps
mods, I know there is another familiar thread but since he has a different point of view; I suppose you don't mind me putting this up. Thanks

Do you feel sudden drops of FPS in the map every few seconds? especially the SP campaign in Rio brazil?
Yes I did but only at the first few seconds when it loaded the map, then it was smooth ride altogether.

After playing 40mins of SP, I find that it's not as intense as the first MW. Like the first real mission in COD4 is the one of the boat. Now, that's intense. And so is the sniper mission at the ferris wheel.

trust me, u aint seen nothing yet for SP

the sp is kinda short. i finish it like 3 1/2hrs. not very tough, the ai in mw2 have a tendency to rush at u more often when ur not firing at them. i hardly died in the game, except in slumps of rio where the enemies are everywhere, roof, alley way in buildings and they are not many covers in the alley, and i got lost  rclxub.gif. For the us ranger mission where i need to def burger town from ruskies that are rushing from every corner. last not least, the friendly ai are the worst.

ps: they fix the bloody genade problem in mw1. implemented specops and dual weilding  hmm.gif smells like halo.

3 and 1/2? What difficulty where you on?

MW2 veteran is much easier then COD4 imo. In COD4 veteran, I gave up during the "No fighting in the war room" laugh.gif

Mine is the opposite blush.gif , I thought veteran in COD4 a lot easier cause AI not as aggressive as MW2
