yeah i loved them after I got some from australia years back.
and just last november I was in perth with the christmas sales going.
Their christmas sales is hella crazy, nothing I've seen here in Malaysia.
The price can go as low as RM10 for a tee, and best of all the quality was great.

kinda true that it is low quality...cause in australia it's very very cheap.during sales it can go up to aud5-aud15.
but well,in malaysia,hardly u can find cheap fashionable clothings.like forever 21 and topshop...expensive!

Well it is generally not really good quality, but must say the clothes are quite fashionable and a good place to find your basics. I think their tops tend to wear off quicker, I used to buy their t-shirts, cardigans and tank tops while studying in Australia. The bottoms can last a lil longer though.

Their pricing is reasonable and the design is quite good but their quality is bad.

I used to get my undies from them but stopped due to not durable.

agree with quality is bad.
today i wore one of my rubi flats for the first time which i've kept for a few months didn't wear. after walking for a while, part of the sole drop off and broke. lol.
maybe it was because i kept it for too long. my other rubi flats can last me for about a month (wearing everyday). now all worn out edi. time for new sandles and flats! biggrin.gif

cotton on quality is aint that good even though the price is quite cheap (compared to Topshop and Forever 21)

the clothings are fashionable and the quality are comparable with Nichii and Kitschen...

i have bought a top from Cotton on and it really gives away after 3 washes...

and in that sense, i would prefer Kitschen!! tongue.gif

The quality is aint that good, though yes, it is good to get seasonal items in trend. But i prefer Topshop alot more which has both its design n quality, worth more the value.

Cotton On used to have pretty good quality stuff thru my experience back then when I was in Perth/Melb 2003-2005. (Not forgetting the awesome sales)

I went in to the store in Malaysia, and I also took notice the quality has really changed. Right now, I heard alot of people are kinda piss off with their quality over there and boycott the brand.

IMO, if you are looking for something basic, perhaps it is alright to buy stuff from here. Base on the price, I would suggest there are better places to get your stuff.

I was really surprised to see a failbrand in Malaysia. FYI, they pay their employees in Australia below minimum wage. That's how cost cutting they are. The fabric - low quality.

As a student on a low low budget I'd frequent their shop, but I can't justify paying those prices converted to MYR for them. The only thing I actually liked were their monotone polos and hoodies. But they don't sell hoodies in MY due to the weather.

Oh yeah, and their sizing. Whenever a student club would print their t-shirts, if they were cottonon we'd get them 1-2 sizes bigger for guys, because their sizing was for both men and women. I think I have an XXL which is equivalent to a standard guy's L.

I gotta agree with this person regarding the employment matter. My girlfriend used to work for them. my girlfriend told me they treat their employees like crap. not only that, when payment time, they always make excuses say no money and stuff but still got money to expand and hire new staff.

you're comparing apple with orange
cotton on and topshop have different price range

i would say....cotton on is a bit like Primark in UK (dunno whether it's still there =_=)

I think u guys should boycott their brand. Don't think Malaysian only consider cheap price and quality second. How about working ethnic? Their company is listed in retail fashion industry as number one for not paying their staff salary, EPF and SOCSO...Sucks ha?

The best thing..they are racist!!!They don't hire Malay!

Cotton On has got to be one of the worst places I have ever worked at. They don't pay on time and when they eventually decide to pay you, they pay you half of what you worked for.

I had to keep calling/texting the manager for my pay and he kept feeding me the same excuses and lies (miscalculated my work hours, the bank account number I gave them was missing a digit etc.). Cotton On paid me A MONTH after my salary was due and even then they paid me less than half of what I was supposed to get. I had to keep calling them for the next 3 weeks only to discover that they deposited a miserable RM 50 into my account (oh hey, where's the rest of my pay?).
The manager said he would start up an EPF account for me but he didn't and he still owes me the rest of my salary. It's been 3 months already.

Don't be fooled by the whole "we are the highest paying employers in Malaysia" spiel. Also, their tagline "come play with us" is complete BS. They pressure you to push items like scarves etc. and if you don't sell enough of them in a day, they threaten to cut down your hours.

In the first month I worked there, 10 people quit because they were not being paid accordingly. This is why they have to keep hiring.

I can understand why a lot of people would buy from them. They're cheap, they keep updated on trends... But from my own personal experience, they shortchange people. When they feel like it, they'll price a pair of shorts for RM 59, the next week, it'll be priced at RM 25. I have witnessed discount rack items go from RM 15 per piece to RM 39 in a day. The system is messy and different outlets sell their pieces at different prices so don't expect the prices to be the same everywhere. Just my 2, VERY LONG, cents. Haha.

I bet u r working in Pav.U still work there?U know what...I've too run up and down KWSP cos they keep on cutting my salary for EPF but didn't bank in at all!I advise u to do so...At least 10 or more staff has lodged an report against them and u better do so if not this company will go bankrupt due to all problems they are having right now.Best is,they ran away without paying u the EPF!

Anyway,i think u r quite lucky cos they still bank in money into ur account. One of my friends get a pay cut ( Suddenly without warning ) RM350 and another part timer don't even get her full month ( October ) salary after get transfer to another store. Can u just believe how stupid is all this people are?

lol its funny how malaysian consumers are ignoring the comments above. typical. rather go for cheap and plenty, don't care about the people involved. no such thing as labour laws or whatever here

the design is quite trendy and it's cheap but sometimes don't feel like buying them because there's always a lot of people having the same Cotton On clothes with you. :/ so do topshop's clothes thou it's quite expensive.

That's the problem. Most of the employees are too scare or taken aback by the procedures of filling a complaint in Perkeso whenever there is a case where the employer is bullying the employees.Sad fact but true...

Not only that, they're a bunch of cheapskate retailers.
All new arrival will markdown right after every 1st week of the month!!!
How do the customers will feel after buying the items and then realized it's a markdown after tomorrow???

and i was first excited to see many nice and cheap clothes there.

so i purchased quite many.

but after seeing so many people wearing the same ones.

I just stopped going there anymore.

and now only i know its such an unehical company!!

will stop buying from them no matter how cheap they sell their clothes at!!

Been there. Not impressed.

Whole place is so cooped up with cheap material clothes that it looks like a closing down sale. I just got bak from Aussie a few months ago, Cotton On 4 them there is probably pasar malam clothes 4 us. ;-)

Bought a white v neck t-shirt a few weeks ago at their Mid Valley outlet n its already stretched. ( I didnt even use the washing machine)

Basically,
You get what you pay for.

i just bought a pair of shoes frm 1U Cotton On and quite pissed off with them. Price tag show RM49 but end up kena charged RM69.

I took two pairs and they charged me RM138 when it's supposed to be RM98. Queried them and they just say the price tag is wrong. =.= In the end I took 1 pair only. The worst part is they charged me on my card and I haven't gotten my RM138 back, even worse, charged another RM69. Hopefully they really did void the sale and get back my money tomorrow.

For tees, bags and flats, the material is very thin. Isn't worth it.
But their knickers super comfy.

So I've gotta say, yay~ XD

Easy ...just take ur receipts, i believe u don't have it rite now. Your c/card statements and challenge them to Ministry of Trade & Consumerism. It's located at Putra Place ( The Mall ) and the verdict will be immediately on that day itself.

Haha I have a habit keeping all my receipts which also contribute to having more trash in my wallet, bag, etc. Anyways, I've settled it with Cotton On's HQ. It was an immediate effect. Since then I've never gone back to Cotton On because the prices are going up and down in one day. The price tags and the real prices are not the same. rclxub.gif
