Slow right now.. really slow. Thought with AAG thing, things would be a lot better. But instead it got worse.

What's the max speed you can get when downloading a file? Just upgrade to 1mb will do. You'll get near 2mb speed too. If you want to upgrade so much, get 4mb. And depending where you are, you might want to wait for HSBB which will come sometime next year.

Now using VVPN4U. Might have to subscribe to it for a long time to come if streamyx going the way it has been. Hopefully HSBB will be much2 better. Atleast with VPN, my browsing speed and whatnot is going ta full speed, or close to it, compared to streamyx.. which is 20kbps for youtube.. winner.

I thought HSBB and Streamyx is operated by the same company? hmm.gif

Same company. I know that. But if he upgrade now, he'll be on a 12-24 contract with them for that package. God knows if TM would let us upgrade to HSBB for free even if we're still tied to their older streamyx package contract agreement, although being sensible they would let us upgrade without us paying the remaining streamyx contract but you never know with them.

Did they get the dates right? Connection have been a bit shit last two months or so.

Added on January 2, 2010, 12:40 amNow I get it. Make the connection shitty for a while, then say you're going to try and improve the hardware blahblah next month, connection get shittier during that upgrading period, and walla, once the upgrading is done, connection back to normal before it turns shitty, which isn't that good anyway, but it would feel like heaven. Everyone will rejoice. We're able to youtube again, which is slightly higher than the shitty period which is no more than 30kb/s. They'll give us 80kb/s for youtube.

Well, they seems to be toying with us for a bit. Sometimes streaming is fast, most of the time below 30kb/s, same with download directly. After getting fast speeds last week or so I think(didn't check, but it was fast before Monday, direct download youtube), it's slow again right now. Under 30kb/s.

I use vpn, 20 monthly. I'll get fast speed through that.

Let's see how the connection is once the whole 'we're moving onto new network' they're doing this month is finished. Expect it to be better.. hopefully. But once HSBB is mainstream, same thing again.. getting worse and worse probably.

It is temporary. We just have to tahan it out for a while. They did announced they would do those upgrades and stuff at certain days, and today is one of them. And when it's a large project, things doesn't always go the way you planned it beforehand.

You do know that 99.99% of their "problems" are unannounced, right?

Just because this recent slowdown is a rare (and I do mean rare) "Just as planned" problem doesnt mean Tmnut is even a remotely decent ISP.
*
Who the hell suggested they are a decent ISP? All I'm saying is that we know the problem since they announced it, and with their history should know better that they don't always get the time right. And I imagine it's a large stuff they are doing(migrating? preparing for HSBB I guess, and maybe something to do with that AAG thing?), so it doesn't always go to plan.

maybe you didnt know that it was smooth very very very smooth from 8am until before 6pm!, means it was not an scheduled maintenance or extended!
they definitely use the maintenance as excuse for this, no doubt for it!
*
We should expect some 'minor' disruptions is all I'm saying, even if it's after the time it's suppose to take place. Never trust what TM says. Usually when they say 12am-8am or something, double or triple that amount.

Seems like my slow connections for the past few days is back up to full speed.

I wonder what was the cause *goes back to read the previous pages of this thread*

Added on January 27, 2010, 8:14 pm
Just read the past few pages, no explanations, just complaints, except this:
Actually you hit the nail on the head. What you marked out is *not* (yeah not) bull$hit.

Spoke to a couple of people in TM that I know personally, you can expect interruptions now and then until end of March, maybe extending to April in some areas.

Can't go into the details of it now, apparently it's sort of confidential, but from what I know, people at Menara TM are working overtime everyday (without OT pay) go get things done a.s.a.p. So some tolerance required 'til then.
*
Preparing for HSBB I guess. I can tolerate till early next year even if it means we're going to get a reliable and affordable HSBB.

Their AAG cable is broken deep down in the sea. Have to wait for that to be fixed I guess, although even before that youtube was slow.

That was back in August last year. Link was OK after that I think. Youtube was fast.. until sometime around November when everything crawls again. Youtube, RS, MU all throttled since then.
