That is from SD Gundam Online series, if not mistaken.

Looks at the original release:

Original parts are painted nicely by Bandai.

But Bandai claims that they can't produce those parts anymore. (#@%@#%@ mad.gif vmad.gif )
So, they replace those technique by using stickers. (Damn ugly)

Boycott! Boycott! mad.gif vmad.gif

LOL wow you would think that years later they would be able to reproduce these with better detail with better technology! Makes no sense that their old methods cannot be done again with new machinery.
*
Ya, that is kind of bullsh*t from Bandai.
With new technology and new machinery, they are saying that they can't reproduce those 90's products?

Bandai, you still treat us like little kids?
Ok, fine, if you can't reproduce them anymore (although I can't accept this excuse), then lower the price. You still charge us the same price....

So, I said, we should boycott these stupid re-stock items, give them some pressure, let them know their customers are no longer the little kids back into 80's and 90's.
Cost cutting doesn't work for a business, especially dealing with modellers that require much more details....

Sorry guys, all in mandarin.
But you can look at the pictures, the transparent parts are in full color.

Sure, if Bandai is not going to release the original version, those are rare items now.
I am going to check back my collection to see if I have any of them.

Still have Cao Cao and Sun Quan's set....

My opinion, it looks so 'lame' to me...
Sorry, no offense to those who like this. I just dont like Bandai's concept in applying this into BB Sanguo series.

But may be I will consider getting one set for my little nephew. smile.gif

Hmm....
This is something we never think of. Bandai is clever in that. Hahaha....
But looks like Bandai is like wanna giving up on this BB series, it can make good PG, good MG, but it can't make a good BB series that can satisfy everyone.

So far, the only kit that satisfy me in BB gundam is the SD Phantom Zaku.

Nice RX-78 collection....
I didn't realise it has a big plane one?

NokCha, you still havent get the new 30th anniversary SD RX-78 yet.
And there are a few more like full armor, perfect, and super version....
They are using RX-78 as the base also.

Sanguo Liu Bei is another one, that has been a base to most of the Sanguo models.....
And just take a look back, how many versions we have for Liu Bei?

I just downloaded the SD Sanguo animation. (Havent watch yet, just quickly browse through after download)
Funny thing is, in the animation, Liu Bei's hair is exactly the same like the model kits (got a lot of holes)
Looks stupid... smile.gif

I like newer version actually.
I mean the perfect gundam, super gundam style. To me, that ratio looks more cute.
But the problem is the newer version of RX-78 sold at much higher price. (800yen, I believe, compared to BB200, just 500yen) mad.gif

BB#172 Gouken Gundam

See the chrome part?
They come in full color, is not what Bandai will restock in June which come with 'full-color sticker'....
Sad. Full color chromed part is much much much prettier than sticker one.

I believe Bandai just wanna test us, they want to see how success is the 'sticker-based' restock.
If is a success, I guess, there will be more and more SD that comes with sticker.
We are moving backward la, man....

So, I say we should boycott those restock.
I think Bandai would find a way to restock the old full color chromed parts.....

wah the swords are cute..
how to get them?
*
I get them when they are being restocked during 2007.

I would rather wait for the chromed version to be restocked.
I believe if everyone boycott the sticker, I dont think Bandai will just sit there and wait since there are so many ppl waiting for these restock (of course, not the sticker version)

Or I am thinking, this could be Bandai's strategy to go with the sticker version first, this is make us 'thirst' for the chromed version first. Its purpose is to stimulate the market.
Then after half a year, Bandai will announce they will re-use the chrome techniques to produce the chromed version to 'fulfill' our needs. But they will then need to increase the price for these chromed version.
I guess this will more match with Bandai's technique in milking our money.

Hope I am right, then we will all get the chromed version (although it may be more expensive, but it worth the price, I am now regret why I didnt get more when Bandai restocked the chromed version during 2007)

thanks you guys biggrin.gif
like sd bb gundam more because it requires less work and hassle to get the product xD
i especially hate painting part. i remember when i was small time assembled a sd heavy arms from W series, dunid painting.
now sd still dunid painting right?

@striderozy: forgot to check out first post before asking my bad notworthy.gif
*
No prob. This is the thread for us to ask everything about SD BB Gundam.

But to reply your question, no, now SD requires a lot of painting, especially Sanguo series.
Assemble is easy but painting will be a lot harder.
Somemore Sanguo series armor is a bit colourful, so in order to follow the boxart, a lot of masking and painting are required.
Example:

This is built OOB:

See how 'ugly' the Sanguo series is.... smile.gif

omg blink.gif  blink.gif that is one big dfiference with the official photo. dam >< i hate painting, sumore thinking sd version dunid to paint cry.gif

how bout non sanguo? like strike freedom? 30th anniversary RX-78? 00 + 0 Raiser? does all these requires painting?
*
I think the kit so far that need the least painting will be SD Unicorn since it just comes in white and clear pink color....
So, you can consider buying it.

I think the rest should be ok, like those you mentioned since they are using those regular gundam colors (blue, red, white, yellow, Bandai will still make parts into these color, just that Sanguo series is too colorful that it is hard to mold them in different color.)
They may require minimal painting or lining to make it looks nicer.
But still, for long term, you wil still need painting....

hmm ok.. i guess i'll just google around for some out of box model and see hows the colour. btw speaking of painting, need around how much to start a basic kit of paint with brush etc?
*
To start painting, you can try using gundam marker 6-in-1 set (around RM60)
That Sangokuden set would be good enough for you t start painting on SD Sanguo.

But you should ask more from kukubeh and 8tvt as they are better in handpainting. smile.gif

You may need primer spray doh.gif

Oh ya, forget about that.
I din use the primer so I always forget about that.

Actually, it is not a must but it will help the paint to stick nicely to the plastic.
I think thats why my paint always strip off when I do masking. (I din use primer)

Hi, welcome to the SD world!

The one you shown, more accurate, they are from SD gashapon, which the series you used to see in capsule machine (Jusco has a lot of them).

For actual SD sanguo series, you can refer to the first post also.
I have a list on all the SD Sanguo (although it is not so updated).

Hope that will help.
