nope, normally no nid to paint.. they look pretty good out of the box but if u really want it to look like the cover, you need to do some touch ups
otherwise, normally they will put sample of unpainted kits on the side, and they look fine as well.. i believe the staff may either not know too much or is trying to sell u some paint but i think painting is not at all necessary since there are stickers that will help your gundam look just right
may i ask which one is it you saw? maybe i can give u a sample of unpainted kit... mine are all normally unpainted

the new BB Legends are amazing good time to start back, the Musha gundam is coming out and soon, command gundam! good year for SD lovers

yes, they are all unpainted, i believe.. no panel lining too

egg planes look cute and i think this place is quite lenient so it's accepted too
but nendoroids, should go to nendo thread more relevant

i was quite impressed with this one at the mid year challenge very nice dust/explosion effect

the god gundam one is really nice.. BUY! jangan tak buy i must collect this entire line. all look really great

the parts separation is actually quite good.. stickers are always present on SDs but i think they're already minimized while retaining a lot of details.. give it a try and you'll see what i mean

i don't think there are any with chinese characters.. not that i can think of any right now, but this is a sample of OOB and stickered
the details are present, just no parts separations for it

sharing some SD pics.. non-bandai though, but if you're into sangokuden series.. this is the definitive line for them the so called PG for Super Deformed.. has both elbow and knee articulation with plenty of details.. but require a lot of painting to make them look good

and this one has been heavily painted! although not very well SD Zhao Yun



these are actually non-bandai ORIGINALS as in they're not copying any of bandai's designs for these
