yeas:
if you flag yourself pvp, (rightclick your portrait, go to pvp, select enable)
the only safe place is santuary zone(outland side of dark portal zone, shattra city, dalaran city) and an empty zone.
NEUTRAL zone(city run by neutral goblin) are not safe zone. you are still flag pvp.

no:
if you don't flag yourself pvp,
you are safe in your faction territory, aka your faction major city, your faction lowbie zone.
enemy will appear with yello name, they can't harm you. unless you harm them 1st.
when you enter contestent zone you are automaticly flag you pvp.

What are the common addons right now being used?
I'm kinda outdated like 2 years back ;p

Is it normal when tanks are doing more damage than dps?

I saw protection warriors and protection paladins topping dps charts with just one button spam for 3-4k each

Basically I'm seeing a lot of LOL in class mechanics now.

Mages topping dps with ice lance spam (2-3k)
Holy Paladins topping dps with exorcism spam (3-4k)
Prot paladins topping dps with avenger's shield (3-4k) + hammer of righteous spam (1-2k)
Prot warriors topping dps with cleave (1-2k) + revenge spam (3-4k)
List goes on.

Tanks's DPS over a DPS's DPS, you need to check whether the DPS is drunk or not.

Usually a tank needs more dps to hold on to the agro, cuz if the dps does more damage than the tank the mob will go after the dps

What happened to threat coefficients?

i don't use much addon,
quartz; recount; omen; gatherer,*cough* gearscore*cough*;
i guess most addon you used 2 years ago still there, you just need to find its updated version
curse.com got a page just show add-on for certain class use only, or the "compack" version for a certain, class/roll.
you can search for the ones you like.
remember to scan it before install.

in wrath times, any dps'er is lower damage output than tank is either still very under gear
(a. try hard but still low; b. there a friend in party that voucher/cover his dps for him; c. just want to be carry);
or he just slacking in dungeon,

not sure what changes in cata.

i though damage/dps and threat/agrro are 2 diffrent thing(atleast in wrath case, i don't play cata yet)
like taunt, taunt spell got 0 dps, but can gain "some" threat/agrro

I didn't slack. At my current level, tank and me both doing 1.5k-2k dps under 1 minute but the rest of the dps is usually lagging behind by a large margin. But the tank will always be either first or second in dps.

And I've seen this pattern in many groups, so it's not an isolated case

Not complaining or comparing myself to tanks, just wondering if blizzard gave tanks a tank gun or something

i'm not leet at all,
i just base on what i see, what people said in forum and ingame.
i know NOTHING about hunter, idk what stat (new)hunter need(agi?),
idk hunter rotation, idk what the diffrence between surv, mm; i only know BM is about pet.

infact forget those, just focus on what you do, ready cc, protect healer, you will get it in time.

Those are pretty low DPS numbers for everyone honestly..

Don't mean to sound like a gosu, but that's just complete bull. DPS roles need to do more DPS than tanks, and tanks compensate with their respective threat skills.

The times when you see a tank outpace the DPS in their own field are usually when the tank knows his/her rotation inside-out and/or has much better gear than the DPS.

Another point to consider about normal dungeons is that tanks are usually attacking multiple enemies, whereas most DPS are single-target, hence the seemingly lower DPS. Try resetting Recount (or similar addon) before a boss fight. If the tank is still outpacing you, then I seriously suggest reading some guides on your talent spec.

Anyone knows how to get those cool signatures , i mean where do you generate them

I'm not worried if tanks can outdps dps, just pointing out that tanks could do it without breaking a sweat. Normally, I'm topping damage meters, but to see a tank near the top is refreshing even for me who has played this game for years.
Well, a friend was saying that this is completely normal at lower levels

But doesn't those skills have cooldown? so a high damage for a tank can buy time for the cooldown?

i usually use add-ons like titan panel, atlas, carbonite, autoprofitx, recount. quite helpful for me...not sure for others...
