Stuck at level 60. You won't gain any experience from the quests in Azeroth once you reach 60. Level cap is 70.

OK, just remember, be polite to others and they will be polite in turn.

Enjoy the game and in moderation!

QUOTE(Madgeiser @ May 9 2008, 09:07 AM)
I will share my story with you guys. It was quite a funny one with WoW.

Like some of you guys, i decided to try out the game with a 10-day trial. Downloaded the game and registered an account. When i was starting i choose a Human Warrior (Forgot which server, i think it is Caelsoemthing). I managed to see the opening cutscene for Human and then the game crashed. So i tried a few time to reconnect but, the game refuse to reconnect. After an hour retrying, i gave up and went to sleep.

The next day i tried again somemore, and to my surprise i was greeted with the "Your account has been locked" message. Check my email and notice i got an email from Blizzard informing me my 10-day trial account was banned (No reason given).  So i mailed them back quite sarcastically, stating i registered a 10-day to try out the game before actually deciding if purchasing WoW was a good idea (As all good old Suckmyx users will know our connection for online games tend to go from ok to ultra suck faster than you can blink and for no apparent reason!). So given in a state of disbelief and annoyed, i wrote and email reply. The content of the email i wrote was quite sarcastic with a closing signature like this (The guy who got banned without being able to play the game).

Logged off, and went to play some other games. 2 or 3 days have passed and i notice i have an email from Blizzard again. To my surprise, the sarcastic email i sent was replied and the reply i got was actually a very polite email, informing me that my account was unblocked and i can again log in using the said account. They apologized for the incident, but still there was no reason given why my account was locked. Still the fact that they replied in a politely manner after the email i sent was a clear sign that the GM/Support staff actually cared and took the grouses of the customer into consideration. Unlike some other MMORPG games i have played, their reply would have been "Go die and stop bothering us or something along the lines, but basically meant the same thing".

So, after my 10-day i went and bought myself a WoW Battlechest! It has been fun for the 3 weeks i have been playing so far. The latency with Suckmyx is actually pretty good. I even managed to have a green (270+ ms!) bar once, most of the time it is yellow (320ms - 550ms). Red only during peak (600+ms - 10kms (Yes... it is that bad. Got that once only)).

All in all, i am happy with WoW as it is now. I doubt i will have the time to play raid/instances as i have very little gaming time everyday (2 to 3 hours a day max).  smile.gif

O.O They must have change the policy since awhile back. Any 10-day trial download from their website usually resulted in a banned account because they only used to entertain ppl from 4 countries and Malaysia wasn't in there. Singapore, Australia, US and NZ I think.

But think there was also a catch that the 10-day trial key from the gameboxes, Recruit-A-Fried and from other game sites, that it may be possible to bypass the 10-day-official-site-key-download.

As for your latency, that's normal. Worst once u get into Outlands. smile.gif

I went Affliction with Impoved Howl of Terror so that it becomes an instant cast.

Armory Pidot on Aman'thul. She's now leveling in Outlands with low level blues and greens. Ouch! Got lazy to do the lower level instances so got guildies to gear me up in gear from Uldaman and SM. I also made some tailored pieces to complement the set back when level 30 from my high level tailor priest.

Use Succy for high DPS. Turn off seduction.
Mob 1 : Siphon Life, Curse of Agony, Corruption (spec max talent for instant cast).
Mob 2 & 3 : Repeat.
Howl of Terror.
Life drain one of them.
Soul Drain Rank 1 to finish them off to get a shard.

Locks are OP.

But if you want it easy to level there's the hunter. You have a pet to tank.

Yes, you can copy the patch files over. I do to save time and I saved all the patch files. Very chalat to reinstall all over again.

And yes, you can undo it. Press K to bring up your skills windows, click on Skinning, there should be a small red circle with a slash at the bottom pane that allows you to undo.

pre bc affliction drain tank. imp howl is overrated, scattered mobs are hard to loot, especially when ur doing quest that involves looting items

post pc felguard tank.

if you dont mind slightly slower speed and want all the fun, spec destro

Didn't have to do much running. I follow the strat, out of 3, 2 mobs came back. And they didn't run very far before they started moving back into my direction but still under the fear effects. So not too bad.

My last instance before Outlands was SM to get the gear. Rest was Shadoweave Set that came from a Shadow Tailor in SW. http://wowmb.net/forums/showthread.php?t=23586

As for crowded areas with mobs, hmm...didn't seem too bad. Didn't aggro too many and even if a 4th and 5th came, can still drain mana and lifetap and healthstone and long fear + dots to kill them.

There is an addon that helps you to monitor auction house prices.

http://www.auctioneeraddon.com

And there's also a blog about someone using it to make money. Can't remember the URL but should be easy to google for it.

pet idle, pact and nuke.

single target dot + COEX fear into SB nukes are much more effecient than training multi mobs and dot + howl.

once you get SOC then aoe'ing is more viable. ROF/HF is simply too consuming/weak, unless ur deep into destro which is not possible at early stages without sacrificing awesome tap/pact talents.
*
I didn't spec CoEX tbh. Single target was getting boring and too slow in Azeroth. So respec and it was fun with multiple mobs. Even better if they bring friends back with them! wink.gif

The only thing I had to be careful of was to make sure that those mobs weren't higher level than me.

The free server transfers doesn't happen often. Only if the population is too high on that particular server that Blizzard decides to open up for free transfers.

however, it's impromptu and for a period of 7-10 days usually.

Domo : just create a new character on another server. Try it out on a PVE server first and PvP later, if u don't like the gankage.

Imbecile : it's on the WoW website. tongue.gif http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/basics/mounts.html

http://www.warcraftmounts.com/

Mania from Petopia maintains that site.

Added on May 26, 2008, 1:10 pmHang on, aren't u plannign to get the Warlock mount?

PVE : if you turn on PVP flag, possible for high lvl char that can kill u w/o aggroing the low level guards.

Vent and TS is free .... unless you want to waste your money renting the server that is unworthy. The in game voice chat is better by the way. dont need to do any stupid settings or whatever just enable

Actually, most raiding guilds still rent servers because the in-game voice chat isn't better. It's actually worst, hence that's why there are still a lot of people renting chat servers.

Also free servers means that you cannot restrict people from connecting to them. There are annoying people out there who would just simply hunt for free vent and TS servers, log in and then start blasting out loud music or sound files that breaks your ears.

Vent is also a better software compared to TS (Teamspeak). In terms of voice clarity.

gpa4ite2008, cannot log into WoW so checking out WoW Lyn Forums ah? tongue.gif

Hmm...ok, u're definitely new around these forums. Or even a new player as well as one who is young and wet behind the ears a bit.

And yeah, I haven't had much time to level the priest much as been busy flying to Europe and US on business so not much time to play. Feel free to scorn but for someone who only just join LYN yesterday, you sure do have a lot of angst to share with everyone.

The guy posting about the chat server rental could be a scammer but then again, so could anything else that is posted online. But making general statements about Vent and TS isn't good at all is not exactly a good idea.

In-game voice chat for WoW was mostly put there for people who do not want to opt for a paying voice server. And mostly for casuals. Vent and TS servers are still popular though and it will still be a likely option for raiding guilds. Up to the guild whether they want to use a free service or not.

Added on December 27, 2008, 4:58 pmActually, being targetted is a refreshing change to WoW LYN forums. smile.gif

This is probably the most amusing read for awhile now.

natives dont like new people in their territory amirite?

Nah, it's more that oldtimers would need to explain a bit more about some comments that we make because new players don't always know the history of Blizz changes. Even I don't know anything and there are more than enough oldtimers reading this forum to put me straight.

As for gpa4ite2008, I guess he was more than a bit ticked off about the vent and pcgame posting that he's bringing it up to another level. Oh well. sad.gif I guess it boils down to whether new players are willing to accept answers from the longer playing players in an amicable manner or not. Although there are older players who are more abrupt with their answers than I am or maybe more rude?

At the end of the day, it is a game. If people are getting irritated by the game or even on this forum, it's time to stop.

His SS skills could be better perhaps? I know Odinn was asking him to SS it else it didn't happen. The post is somewhere in LYN. Then silence. Now, come up again.

Forums are busy tonite. He is extremely active. Now wondering whether he is Malay because it's hard to imagine a Chinese throwing insults at ppl by saying that they are a Jew.
