Go for US , its because there are lot of us . As for WoW you can play at your own time. I would recommend you to level up till level 70 . Afterwards see if you like the game or not , if you do you can buy the next expansion and level to 80 and finally cata - 85.
SWTOR vs WoW - different things , i mean if you prefer star wars lore and prefer more of single player MMO with awesome story , by all means go for SWTOR. WoW lacks in story (the lore is there but you don't get the cinematic experience , if that is what you are looking for)
