I have read about past post in MFM forum about using winrar to access the ipa file and replace the original maps with the lastest one from MFM. However the modified ipa cannot be used on iphone that is not jb. Installation via itune will report error ( ... resources have been modified etc, cannot install ...)
However, still there are ppl claim can upgrade maps without jb. However, someone can provide details. Thanks.

I hear you bro! I also owns a JB 2G iPhone..... I know how good is SSH. But my iPhone 3Gs comes with firmware 3.1.3... hence can't JB it. Have to wait till DEV team get a solution to this... sad.gif

For the time being, what's the best way to access/change/download/modify/copy/paste file to my iPhone yeah? tongue.gif

Added on March 17, 2010, 9:47 pmyea....the maps works for papago!

thanks to those that contribute here biggrin.gif

btw, it seems take quite long for the gps to locate me, around 3 to 5 minutes.....

and its laggy too, maybe coz i am using 3g, not 3gs

but the POI is really amazing, even for a small town like where i am!

My dear friend, even with a 3GS and the latest firmware, PAPAGO is still very leggy and having all the same problems that you're having.

My advice to all of you, if you need a GPS that really works as one, get a Garmin. Else, just use it as a value-added apps to your phone or to show it off to your friends. The only good things about PAPAGO is its POI, the price and the ability to do street's name search. It can never replace a real GPS device.

If you've tinted the wind screen of your car with v-cool, you can pretty much forget about using your iPhone as a gps guide unit. It doesn't work in my car... blush.gif
