I know how to do that already.. i used the zip method and sync.. but if did not delete the app in iPhone, the map cant be updated.. so have to delete the app first.. i know there's another SSH method.. but i don like tongue.gif

so any idea how to use Zip method without having to delete my favorites?

Added on April 17, 2010, 10:49 amI realized that if i shut off my iPhone & reopen it, Papago will take a very looong time to locate the GPS location.. around 5minutes?

And if i open google maps first for it to use AGPS to locate it, then only open Papago to locate, it take lot lot faster coz Papago does not use AGPS..

I think AGPS is good in sense that it takes shorter time to locate the GPS signal.. so not sure why Papago doesn't want to use AGPS.. correct me if i'm wrong..

mind if i ask how long do u guys usually take to lock the GPS? lets say in open area, totally no obstruction at all? and inside car with some buildings beside u along the road?for me, it took me around 5-10 seconds on north south highway but along road with buildings, even 2 minutes also havent lock.. i already drove so long also havent lock.. hehe

Diff ppl may have diff experiences..

I used Papago before..

1. Usually take very long to lock down the GPS signal.. Even it's locked, when drive through trees, buildings, it will lag and cant show the accurate position..

2. The user interface is too laggy.. will crash if u press too fast on searching.. lol

3. Currently MFM latest map does not support iPhone yet and hence need to wait few more weeks or months for them to support iPhone version..

4. Battery drained too fast.. if u use GPS, call, SMS, u wont last for a day..

So conclusion is.. When u get into ur car, start Papago, start engine, the signal is still not locked.. then how? U wanna sit there and wait for the signal to lock only drive?

Or u wanna drive a while then when signal locked then stop at road side then only search?

I seldom use Papago nowadays since the speed is main prob for me.. I would buy a dedicated GPS unit if i really need the routing..

QUOTE(mmmbop @ Jul 27 2010, 02:57 PM)
A wild assumption here but it seems those with iPhone 3G will have all sort of problems with PPG.

I'm on 3Gs, and doesn't even need more than 5 seconds to get a lock.

Hardware compatibility and capability play their role as well. It does lag at times but not to the point of unusable.

Point no 3 is misleading. MfM does not publish Papago maps for quite sometime to all devices including android, symbian etc and not limited to iPhone alone. They have some workforce issue and afterall is a volunteer work, complaint is pointless here.

For other points, I don't have a 3G so can't make a conclusion but with 3Gs, no real problem.

Yeah, i just noticed it in MFM website.. anyway, it's not user friendly for Papago in i3G i can say..
