Why break in speaker?

Like a brand new car, speaker needs a period of breaking in to produce perfect sound. Playing different music will do the same thing, but takes longer time. It will be faster using this software

Current version: 1.01

Its is safe, don't worry
After burning in, the sound is much better than b4 smile.gif
Can easily spot where the distorion and crackling sound comes from.....found out my mp3s is the problem...not the speakers smile.gif

Tested with original cd and hoigh quality MP3s...no problems at all smile.gif

i was very intrigued by this 'burn in' after hearing it from tong1774. i went to klipsch' forum to find more info, since theres alot of knowledgeable people there sweat.gif

there is no proof that this 'burn in' exists, and yet, no one can proof it doesnt.
someone mentioned that this burn in process might be because of electrons finding the best route/path of least resistance to their final destination, thus making the most efficient route. then, another person mentioned that biological and mechanical components dont 'burn in', they degrade as time passes, and cannot be reversed. but since speakers are mostly electrical components, which are solid state, there is little resemblence here as well. but i find what this person said to be the most interesting of all. he was talking about how even if there are changes in the components, who is to say they are changing for the better? why not change and get worse? can u make something to change to become better? and every single person reports that after this 'burn in' process, the sound is better. why hasnt it gone worse? placebo? maybe its just our mind adjusting to how a particular system sounds?

i would like to know what u guys think of it too. but for the time being, im more towards the 'no' side wink.gif. perhaps someone can convince me that it really does exist unsure.gif

im now a believer thumbup.gif

experienced it myself, it was as if, 'suddenly', the speakers sounded much better.

hmmm my dad was a hifi enthusiast last time [20years ago tongue.gif] and when i talked to him about this. he said he never experienced this 'break in' before, i suspect perhaps they were all broken in from the factory sweat.gif

Very very satisfy S4.1 user here! smile.gif
It was like an angel singing for me when I pair it with my friend's ENVY 24 HT-S.
I am still using on-board AC-97.sad.gif Blackshirt, Edifier, mind to donate me a sound card?tongue.gif

Back to the topic...
What am I burning in actually? The satellite? Subwoofer? Or the cable?
And how long the burn in process takes usually? I heard from someone that it takes around 200 hours. If I burn in 12 hours per day, then I will be able to burn in my S4.1 in 33 days... Am I right?

Btw, fx_53_xt is my friend. He went to work for Edifier booth in PC Fair.
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=278521&st=0
I wanted to join also. But too bad, I got things to do that time. Hopefully I can join you guys in the up coming PC fair.smile.gif

I already stop burning it liao. I felt like the sound quality has been degraded, then I stop doing it since a few weeks ago. Maybe 18 hours per day is too much.

All I need is a sound card. Can anyone donate me their sound card? tongue.gif

burning in is only applicable to new speaker la,

yours almost one year old already, playing games and musics also finished the burning in process already, so there's suppose to be no miracle by burning in it one more time icon_idea.gif

may i suggest that the burn-in tools made in mp3 or sound wave format? because this is easier for like me that cant burn in without using a pc/laptop... jz plug into a mp3 player through a aux input then leave it there for hours, isnt that much more easier? jz a suggestion~

u mean u didnt turn on the speaker for 1 year ?
or the speaker already been used for 1 year but u never use this software to burn in?

if so, 1 year of long usage already done the burn in process wekk enough.. this software actually jz to make this process faster.. IMO,it doesnt help anymore if u use this software to burn in..

1. jz download, double click .. follow the instuction there.. u can read the introduction inside..

2. sure switch on ur speaker le.. if not? burn in wat?

3. volume.. jz put normal.. some ppl said the louder u turn on , ther better.. but it's only rumours.. dun spoil ur new speaker coil..

4. u gonna hear the hissing sound all the way until the whole process complete.. jz leave them to hiss.. put them face to face to reduce noise..

5. for 2.1/2.0 system, the breaking involve every component, satelites and sub..
for multichannel, only front channel will have sound, so interswitch front and rear..

u can select watever time u wanna burn in ur speaker..
but it's advisable to let ur speaker rest too..

recommended hours is 3 hours per session..

p/s : i usually left the speaker to burn in overnight before i sleep, i set to 6 hours.. burn in for 1 month.. more than sufficient i guess..

only for windows xp. and, the caxfreq.dll is sometimes hidden, so you need to extract all file in zip.
