PS 3 buy in UK is it similar to Msia??
price there i guess is slightly cheaper..
my gf is there.. for 2 weeks.. thiknin of asking her to bring 1 back .. hehe


1 thing i am certain the joysticks there is less than 10 pound .. with conversion of 5.8 now.. = RM58...
shops here for those axis wireless controller.. min is RM 150++
one thing i worry only .. COMPATIBILITY.. and warranty ..

If you intend to watch DVD/BD on your PS3 getting a UK PS3 sounds like a terrible idea

I assume you are getting the slim one. Better get in Msia for the sake of warranty.

Because you'll have nightmare looking for BD that's compatible for UK PS3 locally

The games are region free, the movies follow their specific region.

forget about it. you won't be covered by warranty. i also have UK 60GB ps3 while i was studying in UK, but due to accident when i'm in Malaysia, i can't claim the warranty.i've e-mailed sony malaysia and sony u.k, both of it didn't want to repair due to strict region policy. i end up buying a new Malaysian 80gb ps3. if you're studying in u.k, it's ok but if your gf only staying for 2 weeks, forget about it.

If you buy the US, SG or MY version is ok.
Some blu-ray is region lock and the common blu-ray region here is Region A while the UK PS3 is Region B... same goes for those BD that are sold in our local shop.

Hence not compatible with most of the BD that is sold locally even in LYN garage sales

ps3 in UK is very expensive.... its best to buy locally due to warranty

abt the joysticks/joypad, some ebay sellers have fake ones sold at very cheap price ... big issue is that it won't work

all of us here support originals (games, accessories) that work with the console...

I think many LYNer here won't even buy SG set unless one lives in JB or visit SG frequently. People get MY set mostly due to warranty I believe.

Just buy the M'sia one. I just got YLOD and my set is not M'sia so got problem fixing it now. I believe quite a lot of people getting YLOD now.

buy from malaysia,can claim warranty trouble free....besides those bluray/dvd region lock is a headache
