What do you guys think of Scout II? Reasonable price, nice design, black interior, windowed and good cable management. I'm not bothered by lack of fans, easily solved by getting more.

What really bugs me is they only provide 1 dust filter. Anyone know where to get more of these?

The scoutII does look handsome IMO price is ok considering the branding, not all will agree but chassis design is very subjective wink.gif just go for it if you like the chassis

dust filters may be added later on as well but IMHO the ScoutII should be well equipped with them.. if not, you could always get the magnetic ones made by Silverstone wink.gif

Apparently there's only one dust filter at the PSU's inlet. I probably have to check it out in a shop first before making a decision. Plan to go shopping soon.

Guys,

Need recommendation for casing with dust filter. Budget RM 500+-

Thank you.

I too looked around for casing with dust filters but there arent really complete solutions out there. It's better to get a casing that you really liked and install dust filters yourself. Cheaper too. Myself I settled with Scout 2. Installed filters on side, bottom and top. Front have acceptable dust filters

No need extra modifications. The ones I got is
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811999217

I heard from other forumers you can get these
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16811999226 from view net, LYP. Haven't shopped in LYP in years, so I can't confirm. Magnetic, so just paste it on your casing. Sucks if you're using plastic or acrylic

Depends which model. I was tempted on 600T but expensive. After thinking through couple of times the extra couple hundreds could have been spent on 4x4 RAMs or save for a better SSD. After all I'll probably admire the casing the first month but I'll be dealing with performance daily.

If you want simple, check out BitFenix Shinobi / NZXT Source 210 ( Same factory according to Cyntrix ), Xigmatek Midgard II , Xigmatek Pantheon, Corsair 600T. All these I've considered dust-proof able. There's other simplistic design from Silverstone or LianLi but those are really expensive due to materials. There's also the extreme method of sealing it off completely and watercool properly.

Definitely no dust but a whole new sets of issues =)

Nay to Aerocool. Cheap plastic imo. Lots of unnecessary frills that attract dust and dirt in long run.

I'd say bitfenix even though I'm using a CM

silencio 550 or cm elite 311?

If elite is good enough then go for it. It's cheaper. Unless you're looking for the sound dampening features then I'd still suggest elite and pad it with foam.

Shinobi XL looks like a good choice. Thinking practically.. imagine needing to wipe all those meshes, curves, crevices, holes and other eye candy. >.< nightmare

Is there any zL size casing with minimum holes and mesh. Budget around 800
Preferable aluminium case.
I would like something like the Lanli old 70 series which can support dual psu.

What's zl? size? You mean xatx compatible?

Well technically there's no such thing as XL size. People usually refer PC casing sizes to its form factor.

I bought a CM Scout 2 and dust proofed it with those fan filters and vacuum filters. Just a simple DIY, nothing hard.

Guys,

any thoughts on the Bitfenix Shinobi window?

Did some surveying on it, mixed reviews .

Anybody using it here can vouch for it? Or are there better alternatives?

Looking for a simple elegant look with a side window and proper cable management ( Coming from a 10 year old capayam casing that i DIY-ed with no cable management room sad.gif )

Thanks!

If you're just looking for a minimalism design with side window and good cable management AND no complex WC system, Shinobi is a good choice. Just take note of of your GPU's length
