I planned to get a new chassis but this new CM690 II Plus has been in my mind for quite sometimes, and 1 thing that make me think really hard is... the front fan is not capable of cooling all the 6 hard disk cage.
Thus, I was wondering if any of CM690 II owner here ever thought of mod a 200mm fan at the front? Is the space enough to fit in a 200mm fan? From the specifications the width is 214mm, making the 230mm fan out of question. So can anyone verify this for me? And any other suggestion to make it capable of cooling all the 6 hard disk cage? 2 x 120mm? Please do post any useful suggestion. |

From what i see on the picture, it has an optional HDD 120mm fan to cool the top portion while the front 140mm blue LED fan is used to cool the bottom.
![]() Maybe you could add a 200mm fan but most of it comes like 200 x 200 x 30 - and the stock front fan is 140 x 140 x 25. Im not sure if 5mm would make a big diff Or if you're not running large GPU's then add the 200mm fan at the back of the HDD cage? one 140mm on the front and 200mm on the back, hehehe..push and pull config |

Oh, good idea... I had a run to the local PC shop to have a chat with the tauke and he show me 200mm fan with the CM690 II Advance... dissapointed... cannot... lol oh well.
Now I just need to fit another 120mm fan after the cage, great! Thx for the guidance! |

QUOTE(da drummer @ Sep 8 2010, 11:55 PM) mind to tell me what is the feature that i should consider? If you planing to go LAN party..then u can cosider abt taking scout...i already google both casing plus watch it at utube..but at the end..it only make me greedy.. i consider scout coz it has handle.. but i also consider k62 bcoz it looks like it has more space..but quiet heavy help me guys...im afraid i will interested in more casing K62 is more tough compared to scout while scout is more fragile due to most of the parts is abs plastic to reduce it weight, so u can take it move around... And K62 got more space to fit in large size Graphic card |

K62 is a TRUE tool less case...even mobo screws oso tool less...
and the PCI slot tool less design is so far the only one that TRULY works. the rest all as for handle...even if i move the case around alot...i still wouldnt be bothered with the handle.. and all black=win |

IMO CM690 II Advance is very good already. (with 6 vibration dump hdd slot)
3 7200 RPM HDD run MAX 42C at afternoon without aircon. Later will try 6 1TB 7200RPM see how it goes. BTW, you can remove the big front fan and install 2 smaller ones to get a full cover for all 6 HDD. |
