Hye, I would like to ask your opinion on display colour...

I am thinking of buying a new lcd monitor.. thinking of getting it at pc fair in penang tomorrow maybe.... so, i would like to ask the opinion of you guys that had owned some lcd.... I would like to ask user satisfaction on AOC Angelo, Dell ST2410 , Acer H233H and also Viewsonic VX(dun remember what model but 24")... any other LCD if better please tell me...

I would like to know your opinion on how good the colour is, response time (blurring, ghosting)... and any possible issue to be encountered...

Actually, I wanted to get less than 24", i wanted only the 1080p resolution.. but as my research yesterday, only 24" got hdmi connection.. i wanted hdmi to be future-proof...

Thanks in forward... i've been reading the whole thread since yesterday, wish someone could sum up everything into a recommendation list of all you guys discussion.. hehe...

Wow.. that test really give aoc very low score...

To be honest, i'm happy with my aoc angelo that i'm using now.. it's just that there are alot of ghosting...or am i not setting something right?.. i just use the icm profile that came with the driver cd... is there any solution for ghosting?.. like raising LCD overdrive setting in ati cc..?? color is a bit off, typical of lcd screen i guess... then i have to complaint about the a very obvious blue blacklight leaking at the bottom of the screen when displaying full black pics... the leak isnt very noticeable until viewing the screen from above... or am i having defective screen here?

Hi Everdying,

A question for you. I'm using Acer Full HD monitor and i've set my refresh rate to 50hz and Color depth to 32bit.

Im using Gigabyte GE Force 210 w HDMI output.

The issue is , when i just surfing or doing some work, my monitor goes black screen and it appears back.

Do you have any idea , what should i do next?

Hmm.. what is the native refresh rate of your monitor? 50Hz sounds a bit odd... most non-3D monitor nowadays works at 60Hz... 3D monitor at 120Hz... Full HD would also mean you use it at 1920x1080 res right?... my AOC 2434pw flickers terribly when i try set at 75Hz.. which is 15Hz more than it's native refresh rate... try 60Hz and see... if not try use other connection, dvi maybe... in some rare case, cheap HDMI cable arent able to transfer full HD signal probably...

Well, i hope you have the time to read these... A trilogy of scientific cable testing from gizmodo...

http://gizmodo.com/266616/the-truth-about-monster-cable

http://gizmodo.com/268788/the-truth-about-...-keep-upusually

http://gizmodo.com/282725/the-truth-about-...finale-part-iii

We cant easily says all cables are the same... some cheap ones might be too poorly built to transfer signal correctly... i use cheap cable myself, i'm just saying it could be the cause of his problem... and yes, i do believe expensive hdmi cable are just a huge rip off since it's already mainstream connection now...

@sKyWiR3pT3lTd

Well, i dont use Nvidia so i dont know what is the issue with your system... have you tried going to Nvidia support forum and see if anyone got the same problem... or google about it.. it's weird that it only happens during internet browsing, which shouldnt use much cpu or gpu power... if you have another monitor or tv( with proper connectivity option ), i guess you should try using those for a while and see if the problem repeats... that should make it easier to locate the main problem...

thx...

Well, it wont hurt to try cheaper ones first... and if you're going for 1080p resolution, most hdmi cable are sufficient... you're just using short 2meter cable right?... digital signal degrade over long distance, so you dont have to worry much... see the link i posted earlier, they have thorough analysis of hdmi cable...

Hi, thanks for the advise. I did google but nothing similar reported except other issues. Im suspecting that the cable could a problem.
I dont have an extra monitor to test on. I'll give a try as you suggested.

Just trying to help, i have heard some ATI user have problem when using hdmi connection... they had to disable HDMI sound output to stop flickering problem... apparently their cable or the connection itself dont have enough bandwidth to output picture n sound at 1080p...

hi, again...

after some research and study, i will stick on 16:10 resolution, because i not always watch movies on computer, so i dont need the 16:9 resolution. Between AOC 2218VG and LG W2252T, both with 1680x1050 resolution and both price are similar around RM500~505.

So, i need to know, between these two, which is better?
*
I would have gone for 1080p, more future proof... hehe... but i think most 1080p monitor are around rm600++... if price are similar, IMHO i would go for the LG monitor... strictly just brand preferences tho... Lg use same panel as Samsung i think... i myself use AOC 2434pw ( angelo )... it is good monitor but nothing to brag about it.. got some backlight bleeding and ghosting, well most lcd have this weakness tho.. but i suggest you read reviews of the model u interested and see what is it weakness... no matter how good the manufacturer is, theres bound to be some model that arent as good as the other...
