talking about dell ST2410, how is the performance? i was thinking of getting the monitor with the extra belkin HDMI cable which is RM98. do you guys think its worth it? by using HMDI, does it improve the quality significantly?

About the DVI cable's last time i bought 2 types of DVI - VGA converter and both didn't work for my office PC as there was no display.. then i went back to the shop i told the owner, he instead took out the one in his display set and gave it to me. Lol it really worked  sweat.gif . Then i noticed all three had different number of pins attached/poking out but all are same shaped (i mean the pin sequence are identical)... so will this be a problem if i get a non dell DVI to HDMI cable ? blink.gif

hmm.gif so you are trying to say that i should get dell's HDMI cable instead?

anyway, im still confuse why one should use HDMI cable. i googled and it seems that the quality will be better but is this true?

received my st2410 few weeks ago, pretty impressive to me for the price.

for those who purchased stuffs from Dell before, try to call the SA and ask for special price. i got mine for RM619.. smile.gif not sure is it applicable for everyone since i purchased quite a lot items from them.
*
seriously? what did you actually said? if really can nego the price then i might just ask for the DVI and HDMI cable for free instead of getting an discount brows.gif

DVI cable is only RM8 (bought it from a shop in Subang Parade).
*
yes it should be around there. dell offer, belkin HDMI at RM89 and bundle DVI & HDMI at RM98. so i assume DVI is RM9 smile.gif

Saw HDMI cable price is RM20 & RM40 for DVI - HDMI in Sri Computer.

hmm... yes i know if it from shops like lyp it should be cheaper but im staying in klang and im always busy with work. so it wont be convenient for me to go all the way up for cables. lol

anyway, why is DVI cable more expensive than HDMI? typo perhaps?

in klang if you want to find cap ayam HDMI you need to hunt for it. or maybe i just dont know where to get it. but if you get those "branded" one from local shops like SenQ it would be around the same price as dell. probably around RM60-70 cheapest.

Thanks dude good answer. I saw the samsung model in All IT. But how did owners of ST2410 made their decision  rclxub.gif without a preview shocking.gif ironically its kinda blind faith as well  blink.gif

btw, iinm both of the samsung model you mention is using TN panel which is the same as dell. so the different wouldnt be much smile.gif

wow, amazingly your choice is exactly same as mine. Well, samsung B-30 series is relatively new monitor, whereas Dell st2410 is a half-year-old product.

samsung: reputable for product quality, but have backlight problem (recent year the quality has dropped and the price u pay is for the brand, coincidentally samsung boss said the latter part himself), has calibration software.

dell: reputable for after-sales-service, has what we call the legendary rma service quality status lol.., but panel might not be as good as samsung, less brightness than B2330H,

This is what i might do, I'll go pc fair to find out whether Samsung got offer or not (lowest i see for B2330H is rm619), if it gets lower, then I might consider it. As for Dell, it has promotion till 25th April, so I think i have plenty of time to ditch Samsung for Dell (the price from website is rm679, but if you're a regular customer, ask for discount).

Yes, both monitor doesn't come with USB. anyway y u need usb port when ur CPU should have the port as well?
*
when you look at it carefully, dell doesnt include a DVI cable. only VGA iinm (correct me if im wrong).

anyway, i bought ST2410 too on monday and arriving tomorrow rclxm9.gif
