Definitely the Dell. Nothing quite beats an IPS panel.

Based on personal experience, yes. LED products cant quite yield the same color gamut that an IPS panel affords. Not to mention the better viewing angles.

Using the Dell U2410 currently. Saw the Samsung on display at BestBuy right beside a Dell S2209WA. Saw enough to make me pick the IPS over the LED backlights.

The Dell U2410 should be using the H-IPS panel. But in truth, it doesn't really matter. Any IPS based product would still outperform the usual TN ones.

My home is in Malaysia, but I'm studying at the States. Malaysia's approximate version of BestBuy would be Low Yat Plaza 

As for the U2410 I got it for approximately RM1500 after discounts.

Touch screen is useful for cash registered machine type, order key in, but ordinary computer usage, it could be your hand will be tired fast, as your hand won't rest on table everytime you touch unlike using mouse. While your hand work more (to touch from left to right in a 23" screen you hand move more compared to mouse scrolling) which could be tireness for the hand as well.

Touchpad in laptop is problematic even until now. So may be explore the touchscreen on laptop is the area should be look for? instead of desktop.

Drawing? yes, but you finger might be too 'thick', need sharpener to sharp your finger tips first.

guys....im considering getting a 24" monitor to replace my superb Samsung 226BW....can anyone recommend me something better or as good as the 226bw? ive been out of touch with LCDs for quite awhile

main purpose will be for gaming...

requirements:
1/ Budget Below 700....can mebbe add a LITTLE bit only
2/ BLACK...full black design would be much better...dont mind if theres small amounts of other colors...like the silver line at the bottom of the 226BW
3/ as little ghosting as possible (better response time?)
4/ must have DVI input at least...got HDMI oso ok.
5/ dun wan built in speakers
6/ the on/off button...prefer something thats not bright. or no light when its on standby.

thats all i can think of for now.

checked out both models... the dell looks very nice...but doensnt come with a DVI cable

anyway...according to THIS REVIEW the diagonal screen is 24" Instead of 23.6"....this true?

and whats the warranty policy like for Dell monitors?
the Samsung, kinda read a not-so-good review and it turned me off...
anymore suggestions? wat about the AOC? is it any good?

VESA (Video Electronics Standards Association)... Mount refer to the 4 standard mounting screw holes behind the monitor... Resolution refers to the standard resolutions...

Dell 3008wfp,if i can't get it end of this year i will wait Asus launch 30" monitor with 2560*1600 resolution (just hope it will launch)

2333sw plus DC 50000:1 to be correct. After cancelling many monitors on my "WISH LIST" i got this two left [which is in my budget] to choose before i made my purchase tomorrow.

So does Acer LCD's Monitor reliable nowadays? I mean " Tahan Lama " or not? Im currently using CRT Samsung SyncMaster 753s since 2004/2005. I love it so much but now need to change to LCD as i need more space on my table..

P.S: I hate to say this but my heart telling me to get Samsung 2333swplus, but the Acer specs attract me as well.. now im in dilemma...   darn`
