is it most of the widescreen, especially those in 16:9 support HDCP?
can a non-HDCP monitor (even got DVI port), use to display bluray movie?

any comments on this model, most importantly, do it support HDCP? |

if an LCD doesn't mention about the dynamic contrast ratio at all, does this mean that LCD doesn't come with the feature?
eg. S2209 http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/c...dhs1&l=en&s=dhs |

QUOTE(kkhong @ Mar 2 2010, 01:59 AM) hi, I'm having dilemma to decide on which model: I bought X223HQ before, the thing I dislike is the rigid button and do not have a dedicate button for Source selection, and not to mention, its backlight bleeding is not so satisfiable for me. Now owning Samsung B2330H, its quite good for its price, with HDMI port and 3.5mm jack out. I personally recommends Samsung, or Dell.1. Acer X233H - popular among forummer. 2. Samsung B2230H - good reputation on quality 3. Dell ST2210 - good reputation on after sales and warranty all price are more or less the same. The monitor is used for movie purpose. I'm willing to top up rm50+ for other models not mention if recommended... please help..thanks! Added on March 3, 2010, 2:52 pm QUOTE(kkhong @ Mar 2 2010, 11:54 PM) my actual budget is around Rm550 to Rm600, can top up Rm50+ more if really worth it. My target is getting a full HD (1920x1080) monitor around 22-23 inch. Currently having dilemma choosing these 3: Acer X233H, Samsung B2230H, Dell ST2210. Samsung B2330H 23" for RM620..Maybe there is monitor from other brand which is truly outstanding? This post has been edited by dattebayo: Mar 3 2010, 02:52 PM |

anyone using Samsung B2330H, or its 21.5" and 24" siblings?
when I plug the PS3 into its HDMI port, it just won't show up, totally black screen, when plug the laptop into the HDMI, the screen can show the desktop, the OSD display 1920*1080, but the screen appeared smaller, with black bars on top, left, bottom, right corner. The text and images appeared as if they were crammed I don't think the cable got problem, because when I use the different DVI->HDMI cable to test the HDMI port from my desktop DVI port, the same thing occured, the smaller screen with black bars at 4 edges. is this a design issue or isolated case This post has been edited by dattebayo: Mar 7 2010, 10:25 AM |

QUOTE(ooiwbng @ Mar 7 2010, 11:36 AM) it shld be the scaling option issue under DTV. its set to underscan, if it is drag all the way ----> to 0 %. got such options under the monitor OSD? I still dont think the graphic card is the cause, because I tested with DVI cable, the picture was display perfectly |

I have seen those sub Rm400 LED LCD in shops, to be honest the dark effect isn't that astonishing, its quite similar to the traditional CCFL backlit LCD

does Samsung LCD monitor after bought must register the warranty?
All IT did this, they asked me to fill up the form just before I pay the money, they said is for warranty record but later I bought another one in Thunder Match they didn't do this, I think most shops they never implement this rule |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Mar 12 2010, 02:10 PM) i got one question on the acer monitors. Acer X-series is kinda user-unfriendly how easy does it switch to 4:3 mode? i know philips is a one-touch affair, while LG needs to go thru the menu system up to 3 presses. so how bout the acer? the front buttons are rigid, have to press using thumbs the menu navigation style is so unintuitive but considering it is for entry level segment, can't complain much lo |

QUOTE(Everdying @ Mar 12 2010, 09:06 PM) but the Philips LCDs also entry level, but one press only to 4:3 ratio. u can't one press to do the same thing for Acer X-series, makes its easier when watching movies or playing games that dont support wide screen. so means the Acer ones needs quite a few hard presses to get it to 4:3? maybe i should go find a store that has it on display, cos ALLIT i went to at ikano only have philips, benq, samsung and lg on display. in fact, it is 5-6 presses in total even switching the source from Analog to DVI-D also requires few navigations on the menu if u have the budget, stay away from Acer X-series |

QUOTE(karhoe @ Mar 13 2010, 05:42 PM) If you fill up the warranty, Samsung will have a record, else they will follow your manufacturer date if you cannot produce a receipt. then its ok, my current monitor was made in feb 2010, i bought in end of feb tooI learned it the hard way when I am forced to send my monitor in for repair over a small issue just before the warranty expires (when counting 3 years from manufacturer date) If I had the receipt, I could have repaired it much later. |
