Err... I don't think many can notice the differentiate between 5/6 ms vs 2-4 ms response time

Ultrasharp series may come with adjustable height, rotated stand compared other only can tilt a little only, also with premium panel which means can exchange 1 for 1 if there is any dead pixel, while for normal series, only more than 5-7 dead pixel only can claim warranty.

I would say different product cater different needs from customers.
*
The thing about Dell is that, they usually send third party to collect the LCD from you instead of coming themselves. Thus, they might not even know how many dead pixel you have when you decided to make a warranty claim. Last time, i claimed that my LCD came with dead pixel (only 1 of them) and other problems like unable to power up etc (it was actually my GC that was causing the problem, which i found out later) and Dell just send their third party courier over, and directly replace me with a brand new LCD (or it might be refurbished, i do not know) which is so far, so good smile.gif

i got one question on the acer monitors.
how easy does it switch to 4:3 mode?

i know philips is a one-touch affair, while LG needs to go thru the menu system up to 3 presses.
so how bout the acer?
*
Acer X-series is kinda user-unfriendly

the front buttons are rigid, have to press using thumbs

the menu navigation style is so unintuitive

but considering it is for entry level segment, can't complain much lo

but the Philips LCDs also entry level, but one press only to 4:3 ratio.
makes its easier when watching movies or playing games that dont support wide screen.

so means the Acer ones needs quite a few hard presses to get it to 4:3? maybe i should go find a store that has it on display, cos ALLIT i went to at ikano only have philips, benq, samsung and lg on display.

u can't one press to do the same thing for Acer X-series,
in fact, it is 5-6 presses in total

even switching the source from Analog to DVI-D also requires few navigations on the menu

if u have the budget, stay away from Acer X-series

omg, 5-6 presses? wtf?
im actually looking at 20" wide screens with dvi input.
so the acer seems the best choice for now if not for that 5-6 presses.

depends on wat u're doing wit ur pc, viewing distance & angle.

tv a great for movies o sports games.
but for browsing, fps shooter game, LCD would b clearer.
bcoz even the tv screen is bigger, the resolution is just the same, hence, less DPI.....

does Samsung LCD monitor after bought must register the warranty?

All IT did this, they asked me to fill up the form just before I pay the money, they said is for warranty record

but later I bought another one in Thunder Match they didn't do this, I think most shops they never implement this rule
*
If you fill up the warranty, Samsung will have a record, else they will follow your manufacturer date if you cannot produce a receipt.

I learned it the hard way when I am forced to send my monitor in for repair over a small issue just before the warranty expires (when counting 3 years from manufacturer date)

If I had the receipt, I could have repaired it much later.

Btw I love Samsung service centre alongside Federal Highway, free drinks, and can sit down and watch BD movie clips (trailers) on their latest LED TV. The Olympic BD clips are just superb.

Check out this 23/24" monitor round-up/reviews - DigitalVersus

Certainly the best site for monitor reviews/comparisons I've read so far, with many popular monitors that are available here. The reviews include the all important colour accuracy test, and ghosting/reverse ghosting tests.
I've used 2 of the monitor they've reviewed (AOC 2434Pw and Dell G2410), and I absolutely agree with their views, especially regarding the AOC's horrible reverse ghosting.

Reviews to note - AOC 2434pw, Samsung P2370h, Acer H243H and S243HL.
