Need help with this, i hooked up my xbox via cable and modem, and when i tried connecting to xbox live, it asked me to update. So i did, but it won't connect to xbox live. My network should be fine seeing that i use cable and modem, internet also okay, what's wrong?

The bar won't move or just mention live is not available bla bla...

The bar moves, and then got screen pop-up telling me to update console, press update then got updating screen, then another screen telling me something went wrong, can't connect to xbox live.

Btw, when i play halo odst, oso ask me to update, but this one plk can update.

I think your internet is just slow.

Just installed the streamyx today, didn't even bring my laptop. Could it be slow internet connection ka?

But how come u can connect to Halo ODST live if u didn't perform the console update in the first place O.o ?

Oh sry, i didn't mean i was playing odst on live, i meant odst needed an update to play.

there's an xbox live test on the console. You may use that to check what went wrong.

My guess is your router or modem is not comptible with the xbox live and to solve this problem you need to find google about how to configure router port for xbox live.

Tried the connection test, still the same. Will check if my modem is compatible or not.

do portforwarding on ur router. sounds like 1 of the xbl port is not open.

Port forwarding? Does that apply to a wifi modem?

Its the modem in bridged mode or router mode? if its in router mode then u have to portforward it as usual.

In bridged mode, its acts as a pure modem, so u do not need to any portforwarding.

ya, what wifi modem r u using. from what i know, p1, celcom, maxis, digi - require portforwarding. maxis is the worst, i heard that their port in their server are always closed.

I'm using what streamyx gave to me, riger wifi, MODEL DB 108-WL.

How to tell if its in bridged mode or not?

just set DMZ on ur modem to open all port
