QUOTE(nlks @ Nov 12 2009, 07:11 AM) Hi, Aseana rated amongst most worst hotel in the world by traveler in Tripadvisor. Better take Langkasuka.I'm going to langkawi Jan next year, need some help on selecting the hotel, I read the langkawi V1 and some comment online and come up with 2, Aseanie and Langkasuka. can someone give me some recommendation? other than that, does anyone booked with www.agoda.com.my before? I see the rate is cheap, just doubt about the reliability.. |

QUOTE(etigge @ Nov 21 2009, 11:14 PM) Lanai was formerlly called Federal Lodge (if I am not mistaken). At that time it was managed by Holiday Villa (just side by side) and maybe they have found their own management team to handle the operations, hence the name change. It's quite a good resort, nice beach front and can just hop over to Holiday Villa and use their pool if the Lanai's is not nice ,LOL. Remember Jackie Chan's 'Police Story 3' where there's a scene Maggie Cheung and Samantha Schubert was pushed into the pool. That is Holiday Villa's pool. Nope you are wrong. Federal Villa (side by side with HV) was managed by Holiday Villa and still under them currently. The Lanai situated at the end of Pantai Tengah. The Lanai have own swimming pool, beach but a bit far from crowd at Pantai Tengah. Federal and Holiday Villa are shared same facilities. |

QUOTE(onejme @ Dec 25 2009, 01:48 AM) guys, one question What room you have booked?Normally, hotel in M'sia comes either with 2 single bed or twin bed. The best solution for you is try to find what room you are booking and call Langkasuka and ask them, your room type are comes with what configuration. Usually no extra charges or small fee are applicable like what I encounter in Mutiara Langkawi. They ask me to top up Rm20/night because breakfast.i've booked a room in langkasuka resort through airasia website. The problem here is,i only put one guest in my hotel booking. Can i bring another one friend to stayed with me? No extra charges right? n im scared if they give me single bed too... sempitttt whooooo... thanxx!! QUOTE(stereokumonomu @ Dec 31 2009, 08:51 AM) hi guys, need a little help here, If you are going there by train, the train should stop at Alor setar, not K. Kedah. You need taxi or bus from train station to K.Kedah. If you want to use bus, you need to walk a bit to Stesen Bas Lama Alor Setar and get K.Kedah bus which is in 30min frequency. The duration is about 20-30min to K.Kedah. If you take taxi, there are a lot of taxi in front of train station.im planning to go for a backpacking with my friends in langkawi.. will be going in between 15-20 jan, so its an off-peak period, as school holidays just ended. We expected the trip to be about 3 days 2 night, or maybe 2 days 1 night depends on budget, estimated joining friends is about 10-15 people, so an apartment or cheap chalet or maybe dorm would be good enough, if its a chalet, we dont mind to just fit in all 10 even if the chalet only meant for 5 person, LOL, all male here, so comfy or not is not an issue, will be leaving from ipoh by train, and stop in kuala kedah. so a few questions if i may, need a roughly estimate from sifus here, -from kuala kedah to jetty, is there any transportation? at what range of time and how much? -cost of ferry to langkawi from kuala kedah jetty? -van rental cost? -choice of place to stay and cost? that might be all, and the estimated cost can even be for a single person or the whole group. THANKS! greatly appreciated guys!.. and btw, i told my friends, roughly estimated, after consider all the cost which can be share, each person will spend not more than rm250. would that be enough? |

QUOTE(lyndiane @ Jan 22 2010, 06:08 PM) Hi all, Nice theme resort. A lot of European stay there. I would say good choice.I'm heading to Langkawi 12-15 March (3 nights). Has anyone stayed at Sunset Beach Resort (Pantai Tengah)? It seems like a very cosy place, but the only room available during that period is Sunset III for RM190/night. What do you guys think? Thanks! |

QUOTE(lyndiane @ Jan 23 2010, 10:10 AM) I hope this is in response to my previous question? My personal experience, the best beach goes to Andaman Bay. I dunno whether Tg Rhu can see sunset or not. Pantai Kok (From sunset cafe at Mutiara and Over water Berjaya restaurant) have great view of the sunset I've ever experience in Langkawi. If so, thanks for the feedback. I can't wait to get to Langkawi now! :-) By the way, what is the best beach on the island in terms of cleanliness? I read that Tanjung Rhu is the best (white, sandy beach).. but can you get a view of the sun-setting from there? Or would Pantai Cenang or Pantai Kok be a better choice for sunset viewing? Thanks again folks! |
