----------
Started last year.... i never love football till my friend said i'm not a man for not playing football, so i played a bit, twice every evening, and soon it became my habit to play. Started supporting Manchester United when my friend ajak me mamak to watch a Manchester United game. Maybe "suei" but that is the year Ronaldo left and i never have a chance to watch his free kicks...

Born in the 80's. Started watched football in 1990. that's when i started to fall in love with football and support Man Utd until now. best moment? Cantona's Kung Fu kick, Schemeichel's goal against rotor volgograd, First EPL title and 1999 treble. biggrin.gif

Worst moments? 5-0 lost to Newcastle, 6-3 lost to Southampton and retirement of Cantona.

Favourite all time players? Cantona, Giggs, Kanchelskis and Sharpe.

Started loving Man United when I saw the 1990 FA Cup Final vs Crystal Palace. First match ended 3-3 I think, with Jim Leighton (the keeper) at fault for at least two of the goals. What a game! Sparky scoring with seven minutes of second-half extra time left. Typical United stuff!

Rematch ended 1-0, courtesy of a 50-yard lung-busting run by Lee Martin, the left-back. Still sends shivers down my spine. Oh, and I think Fergie changed the keeper to Les Sealey for the replay. wink.gif

Started watching football supporting ManUtd at 96, mainly after influence from cousin.

No prizes to guess my favourite player who scored from 50 yards that year biggrin.gif

Supported Arsenal since the 96/97 season.

Reason = Love at first sight. Probably wanted to be different as well. Back then it was Man Utd, Liverpool, Man Utd, Liverpool, Man Utd, Liverpool.

Ah nothing beats the feeling and satisfaction you get seeing the club you support slowly grow from a mid table team to consistent title contenders and occasional Champions.

Still remember Bruce Rioch's sacking 5 days before the season started very clearly with fans fearing the worst after a dismal league season the season before and signs of unstability so close to the season starting.

But in came Arsene in September later on and the rest is history.

Started noticing football since 2002 (thanks to World Cup) and liked Liverpool but didn't like the way they play under Houllier so I supported Valencia instead as I was an admirer of Benitez. Then when Benitez came over to Liverpool it was like a dream come true lol

I've never seen Liverpool's glory days but I still love them smile.gif

Born in 1981.

My older brother was a die-hard Liverpool fan. He tried to influence me to become a Red back in 1988. But we didn't always see eye to eye, so I proclaimed support for the no. 2 team on the table at that time, which was Arsenal, just to piss him off.

I was too young to know about the need to win by 2 goals at Anfield bla bla bla, but all I know was that Liverpool lost and I can gloat in front of my brother. (I remember the gloating, but I don't think there was live telecast back then. Maybe we were watching the news...)

But I only began to understand things around 1990 during World Cup Italia (Vialli was my first fav player). Also started to play footie around that time, again the influence of my brother. Ahhh so many nice memories.

I feel sorry for Liverpool fans. Liverpool have not won top flight title for more than 17 years yet the fans are still amazingly passionate about their club.

The fans really don't deserve that... sad.gif

No wonder all ppl said Liverpool fans are the best in world.

Late 80's for me, during the final days of Dalglish's reign. Back then the squad boasted the likes of Grobbelar, Nicol, Ablett, Venison, Hysen, Hansen, Houghton, Barnes wub.gif , Beardsley, Rush, Rosenthal, McMahon and Whelan.

i still remember watching heysel live on tv at the wee hours of the morning.
back then of cos i was friggin young and had no idea what was going on, i just wanted the match to start already.
also watching souness and dalglish weave their magic with clemence between the posts, and of cos my fascination with the no.2 jersey starting with phil neal and now carrying on with glen johnson.

born in late 80's.during my primary school days i used to love man utd because of schmeichel.then came world cup 98 when i watched france won the cup+arsenal came to malaysia.i noticed that the manager's name and the club's name was similar.started to fall in love with arsenal because of that.tongue.gif another reason why i changed club because schmeichel when to lisbon after that treble year (correct me if im wrong).was very disappointed with man utd after that.to be honest,i really2 start watch football since 2004.before that only watch premier league highlights and amazed by the goals and the players.

Born in the 80's. Set my first sights on United back in the 90's. Big names were flying around back then especially from Liverpool. McManaman, Owen and etc. Gerrard wasn't even famous back then!

But I fell in love with Giggs. The lad had it all and was young back then. Used to practice football and pretended to be as good as him. Followed in and courted to support United.

Yeap well at least my class in Sekolah Rendah was quite evenly balanced between Man Utd and Liverpool supporters. There were quite a couple of Blackburn fans as well given that Blackburn were champions not too long ago then. And I still remember quite vividly when it was football time during pendidikan jasmani the dudes will be like always "Man Utd vs Liverpool" and that annoys the hell out of me to be on either side and I would be thinking to myself "Ah not this sh*t again. *grumbles*" Those were the days....lols

Arsenal. Born early 80's, support late 90's

Basically, it was because of Championship Manager '97. I needed a non MU and Liverpool team to manage and Arsenal has the best potential.

Also, I remember watching Arsenal vs Malaysia. Kanu, Ray Parlour that bunch. Can't remember the year.
Was really hoping Kanu will kick a free ball (he got few) towards our direction back then.

First started supporting man U since 1991 during Fergie Fedglings era (Giggs, Butt, Scholes, Beckham, Neville Bros).

Then became anti-ManU when CR7 came in. Started supporting Juventus, Liverpool and Chelsea ever since then.

I still remember dunno what cup, Man U, Juventus, Flamingo and Bayern Munich came to play in Malaysia with our Malaysia Selection. Also the world youth cup when we saw the teenage Henry-Trez, Aimar-Riquelme partnership flex.gif Brings back so much memories lol.

The 1st club which I started 2 support is Inter Milan..
Yup Inter..It was Ronaldo and Iván Luis Zamorano era..
Then it lead me 2 become Italy supporter as well..

Manchester Uniteds proud record of having gone unbeaten in the Premiership since December 19, 1998 was brought to an abrupt end as a rampant CHELSEA hit the treble holders for five brows.gif

This was the day i become CHELSEA supporter!!!! rclxm9.gif

Good question.

History and style of play for me. Achievement does play a part. But it was Giggs(a player) whom burn in that United spirit in me.

What I saw on the pitch was a thing of beauty. The Liverpool team of old played with such fluidity and it's no exageration when I saw we used to play our opponents off the park. The team had a good blend of steely determination, undying passion, and silent confidence about them. This was all overshadowed however by the folklore that surrounded the club and Anfield. The legacy that had been left behind by Shankly did it all for me. The Shanks had a lot to do with it to be honest. The more I read, the more I knew I had made the right choice. It if were all about trophies, I'd be a bigger fan of Paisley which I'm not. I get absolutely annoyed whenever someone questions my decision to get a tattoo, asking me what I would do if Liverpool ever got relegated. I know I'd stay loyal because like I said, it isn't all about winning. It may be the reason I first heard of the club, but it won't be for the very same reason I'd ever abandon the club.

born during 80's era. Which club dat im supported? Juventus, Arsenal FC and Perak FA thumbup.gif

why did i support Juve? For juve achievement..well no need for me to elaborate here..all football
fan including juve haters and neutral know what Juve have achieved. The only football club to won
all of international/official trophies in the world.

Club size? History? No need for me to elaborated more here tongue.gif thumbup.gif notworthy.gif

Style of play? Well bcoz juve was established in italy..most people(mostly the one dat nvr watch juve played)
like to labeled us "defensive/catennacio" based team. Im beg to differ, if u watch juve during lippi era with
zidane-del piero-inzaghi trio...we scored goals for fun whether its domestic or continental championship.

why did i support Gunners? Followed the news about former juve player Thierry Henry. Im started watching
the gunners during the prime of "French Connection" trio Henry-Wiltord-Pires. And who can forgot the great
Invincibles era thumbup.gif

why did i support Perak? My home football team..nuff said

That was the icing on the cake. If you talk about fans 'born' in the 90's, it might have some thing to do with the numerious Premiership titles won in that decade smile.gif

On a related note, I turned on the radio this morning on the way to work and they had invited 2 Chelsea fans into the studio, one of which used to support Man Utd. They asked him if he switched because he wanted to support a winning team and he said he did... Needless to say, I paid little attention to what he said after. It's also why I would never make it as an emcee although I've been asked a few times to try it out. I would have slapped the kid.

Should've tried to shame the fella on national radio by popping him with general questions about his "beloved" club. Like who was their manager before Ranieri or which one of the Laudrup brothers played for them before.

reason : at that time freakin anoyyed by manchester utd fans...maybe coz there are many of them..my father bought me a pasar malam liverpool jersey with the GOD name on it..got booed many time when wearing the jersey.
After the year we when treble i did some research and read about the history and now in full supporting mode.
