Do you guys collect old games you played/wanted to play/nice packaging or just sapu base on value? So far the most expensive ones i got is the SFC Ninja Turtles In Time. Took me a good 2 years to decide to spend my money on them.

BTW I have a extra PAL N64 i just remembered in very good condition. I still have the box & everything only thing is the gold controller paint is not in it's best look. I intend to let go the Console & cables but if anyone keen on the box & controller can also. I'll pop in a Golden Eye platinum edition but game complete but box not so good condition.

Anyone know of any places in Penang or KL where you can easily find old consoles and games? It sucks having the consoles but no games to play on them...

Also, anyone have experience with the Game Doctor SF7's parallel port? I hooked it up to an old PC and used UCON64 but it just doesn't seem to work right. It detects the PC and the PC can transfer the file, but it always gets stuck at 99% on the PC while the GDSF7 thinks that transfer has completed.

Got the Japanese version from KLCC sony wings years and years ago (If not mistaken for RM20). But haven't really played the game as I don't know Japanese. The Jap opening song was change to music only for the US release. Performed by Kokia.

I'm also somewhat interested in getting an SFC, but I'm afraid I won't be able to stop once I start going through the games.    I saw an SFII World Warriors cart for 円300 if I'm not mistaken. For reference, each 円100 is about RM4 with current rate. That's impulse buy right there! I even saw an Apple Pippin, though I doubt anyone would even care.

So again, let's just discuss openly about what stuff you guys would be interested in, including any "holy shit" stuff like Xbox 1 Tekki/Steel Battalion (no, I didn't find one ). This is by no means that I would entertain the idea, but who knows. Let the discussion begin!

Well, I don't actually have an SFC That's why I mentioned getting an SFC, not SFC games. But if I did want to get one, the list of games I always wanted is tremendous, so I'm still up in the air about that. But just asking though. How/why do you have a few carts? All of them SFII World Warrior?

Got a metal gear solid version also, then a Red Gundam version and few more special editions.

The AV you can try Playasia, i believe they use the same AV cables as N64 & Snes, not expensive. Or you can find Component cables there too, i think they have a 5 in 1 cable.

You can use the Japan Power Adapter by connecting the A/C with a Voltage Converter, you can find them in gameshops, or electrical/hardware shops. If you are not sure about the spec just bring the power adapter along and show them. Buy bigger ones so they don't overheat easily.

But Japan GC can only play NTSC-J games, you can mod it to region free but i doubt anybody here knows how to.

recently acquires the PHAT PS1 for cheap

but it has this nagging problem of self-resetting after been turned on for a while, like 40 minutes or so (random)

anyone knows the specific problem? I already checked the cables & my power supply, nothing wrong

already opened my PS1 & clean the said pin yesterday, no noticeable bending on the pin

tried it, the PS1 still resetting unfortunately 

going for another go today, cleaning the pin thoroughly & checking even for the slight bend on the pin

I have another PS1, but possibly a recond unit. It is modded but will only play certain pirated CDs

how to check if all the parts inside is not a recond one?

Officially, Cyberbots was Japan only. I know that our arcades didn't really care whether it was Japan-only or whatever, but I never found a Cyberbots machine back then. I think it came out around 1997 or 1998, during Capcom's CPS2 days. Perhaps Capcom thought the west wasn't ready for this kind of game?

As for Rise of the Robots, well, the game did suck. But man, those were some killer graphics back in the day. Back when everyone used hand drawn sprites or digitized graphics, these guys were using 3D Studio, and boasting about using ray tracing techniques. I remember drooling over magazine previews for the game, and couldn't believe such graphics were possible. Too bad the game played like balls. Like, even the stupid special moves were hard to successfully perform.

Holy shit I was wrong. Cyberbots was a 1995 game! No wonder I never saw it. I was not actively playing in arcades during that time. Form 2 student, no access to "friendly" arcades. Seriously, who the hell thought that only 18 year olds and above play games? 

As for the prequel game, it was something called Armored Warriors (Powered Gear in Japan). Yet another Capcom game I missed, due to the 18 years only thing. Blodia's first appearance was in this game apparently. Well, the more I know!
