a problem : my micro usb cable cant detect my memory card when i connect my X10 to pc ..... how to transfer file leh ??
*
i think u need to drag the notification panel down from home screen then tap on mount to usb

my first android phone got a few questions hope guys can help:

1. where can i check the total data transmission via 3g i have been using? something like data counter. The timescape updating status from facebook from twitter all the time i m worried might exceed my data limit hehe

2. the shortcut widget for the home screen there are total of 4 shortcuts.. i recognise 2 of them as bluetooth and silent.. any idea which other 2 is for?

i personally think the phone is awesome.. lag is not as bad as other pda phone i have used.. the only problem for me.. the earpiece volume is kinda low.. even when set to max.. any1 facing same issue?

cheers

X10 owners, how long your x10 battery can survive? I mean on wifi whole day.
*
my battery habis in 1 day... its really draining fast.. i didnt on wifi tho.. bluetooth only when i m driving and 3.5g on

maybe cause of the timescape updating statuses from facebook xD

one thing that annoys me is that those icons will be all over your photo when you're viewing them. have to wait few seconds each photo for them to disappear
*
yeh to be honest the photo viewing interface and navigation is quite bad
hope they will hav an update soon similar to what they demo here on xperia mini

Juz a few quiery for this x10. It doesnt support flash . But it is mention that it can play facebk game. And for language , does it support japanese? I notice alot se phone doesnt support except native jp se phone.
*
yes it does hav a japanese input support.. but phone language dont think so.. i guess coz SE are marketed for non japan countries.. and in japan they hav their own version of SE

anyway

after a week of using this phone i noticed theres a couple of weakness

1. the camera is disappointing.. no xenon is acceptable but it doesnt even hav flash shooting.. only camera light and there is no shortcut on the interface to quickly turn in on.. had to go into settings.. there is also no auto focus light.. generally its horrible for night shooting

2. the screen sensitivity is pretty poor.. without multi touch is acceptable.. but the sensitivity is way too poor compared to iphone.. sometimes hav to tap few times to register.. even my n97mini with resistive screen respond way better

3. making calls r quite a hassle.. via phone book.. had to tap hold to bring up the menu.. then tap call.. wish they hav a dedicated call button ..and it doest allow me to select which number to call when i hav multiple number under a contact.. if there is any shortcut i m not aware off kindly advice

4. conversation volume is probably the lowest among the SE model i have owned.. SE has always been the best in term of conversation quality.. i m kinda surprised they fail in their flagship phone.. during slightly noisy environment i had hard time listerning..

5. ringing volume is way too low.. i missed most of the calls.. and the alarm cant wake me up =.=

hopefully they can improvise further on any upcoming firmware update

other than that.. i m pretty happy with the phone.. its probably the top favorite phone so far

japanese input is confirmed... however phone language dont think so
if not mistaken can download all sort of keyboard interface that support various input method and language.. that japanese input is actually an application.. something like the keyboard skin

as for facebook i cant confirm... tested on their default browser.. they automatically forward me to touch.facebook.com and the page always fail to load.. where else opera wont even load flash items .. that includes the button shortcuts to the games

1. Hold down the shutter button for a few seconds to quickly turn on the camera. almost all SE phones are like that. as for the lack of AF light.. tell me which camera phone has that? I personally think it's enough to replace my point-and-shoot. Every onboard flash sucks anyway, better off without. For other purposes there's always the SLR.

2. I agree with you. I can live without multitouch, but an insensitive onscreen keyboard is a no-no. The iPhone's keyboard is so much better, I can make far less errors on it and it's snappy and responsive. Sometimes I feel like I'm on a resistive screen where I have to press to get some input recognised.

This phone needs a software update to make it a really viable option over the iPhone.

my c905 does perfect job i in dark environment shooting.. it has AF light and the night time pictures produced hardly has any noise.. it was the best camera phone i ever used .. Af light is not that important but they could at least put a short cut for easier access to turning on and off the lights

hey x10 users..

2 questions :

1. is the on screen qwerty inaccurate ?
2. is the earpiece softer than average?

thanks.
*
hihi

1. i wouldnt say its inaccurate. its just that due to the absence of multitouch at the moment, typing too fast the phone will not be able to register multitouch at a time hence might create more typo. but there are various type of keyboard and text input application that will improve the experience. for example the htc keyboard apps.. it automatically correct mystyped character.. and i find it quite pleasant

2. sadly yes earpiece volume as well as ringer volume is on the low side.. but after a while using it i finally got used to it.. still a bit hard to talk in noisy environment tho

Here is some information directly from Android’s developer page: why you shouldnt be using task killer with android

By default, every application runs in its own Linux process. Android starts the process when any of the application’s code needs to be executed, and shuts down the process when it’s no longer needed and system resources are required by other applications.

A content provider is active only while it’s responding to a request from a ContentResolver. And a broadcast receiver is active only while it’s responding to a broadcast message. So there’s no need to explicitly shut down these components.

Activities, on the other hand, provide the user interface. They’re in a long-running conversation with the user and may remain active, even when idle, as long as the conversation continues. Similarly, services may also remain running for a long time. So Android has methods to shut down activities and services in an orderly way:

       - An activity can be shut down by calling its finish() method. One activity can shut down another activity (one it started with startActivityForResult()) by calling finishActivity.()
       - A service can be stopped by calling its stopSelf() method, or by calling Context.stopService().

Components might also be shut down by the system when they are no longer being used or when Android must reclaim memory for more active components.

If the user leaves a task for a long time, the system clears the task of all activities except the root activity. When the user returns to the task again, it’s as the user left it, except that only the initial activity is present. The idea is that, after a time, users will likely have abandoned what they were doing before and are returning to the task to begin something new.

Help.. how to differenciet Ap and Ori?
*
Sony Ericsson phones authorized ori distributor are midland and thorus
so if the sticker on the back of the phone says midland its ori set
make the battery has the sticker too

my x10 is from midland
