Hi all,

Pioneer VSX-520 new owner looking for help.Just bought New set with infinity speakers for RM2400 with a 2 pioneer speaker stand. But unfortunate, the sub-woofer not working.Shop technician already doing their best.Any setting their missing here. Before buying I see with my 2 eye's the sub woofer working well with display set pioneer amp.Could it be my new VSX-520 already defective.Help me pleased.today the technician will come again with another tech. It's already 5 days since last Saturday.

1. Make sure the Subwoofer cable connected to Subwoofer OUTPUT

2. Put all the speaker setting to SMALL

3. Subwoofer level put to 0 dB

i think should be no some troublesome for you to carry your amp and woofer by your own vehicles to the shop for rectification... at least fasten the process and u can enjoy your AV asap...  smile.gif

unless u means ur woofer as heavy as 30kg+ or defected floor stand speaker then different story and have to use their van to carry lo...

anyway, RM2400 for infinity setup with 2 stands seem is a good deal... where u get it? smile.gif

I bought it from my favorite shop at Kulim.Always give me best price. All my home appliances I bought from them.Last Saturday I bought Panasonic Plasma 3D together with this VSX-520.They can offer you lowest price if you manage to give the price from other store. The valid one.Not the invalid.

By the way. Thanks for the advice.the idea to bring the amp back to the shop not crossing in my mind until you state it here.TQ my friend. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

I place my amp inside cabinet with 20 cm clearance on top, 6~8cm on both sides. Dust? I cover my amp with cloth when not in use.

2~3cm is very little, not recommended if you are running it at high volume for long period.
*
At first, the top gap between my amp and the cabinet just 3cm.Reading manual,it's suggest 30cm gap.I just pull out the second layer of my cabinet and place my amp at the bottom cabinet. Now i got the 30cm clearance. But still the sub woofer problem is my main problem. cry.gif

Normally the subwoofer is placed on top of a solid area, eg, the floor. It's abnormal to have it in/on the cabinet.

The receiver is supplied with 2 type of antenna; an AM loop the rectangle plastic frame with wires coiling along the edge that use coaxial connector, and the thin wire about 1.5 meter long for the FM receptor. By the  way, why do you need to have longer than supplied cable? Is the receptor very poor?
*
yes my friend..very poor..can't get good signal on sinar.FM...still have buzzing sound..

if set the front speaker to "large", most of the bass will divert from subwoofer to front speaker... u still can heard the bass from subwoofer but only the lower Hz which cant no within the front speaker's woofer cone HZ range...

so you only can heard very minimum sound from subwoofer as no much voice used super low Hz unless u watching action movie... for normal music enjoyment i dont think u can heard any voice from subwoofer...

so if u set the subwoofer as "plus", the amp will deliver the same level of bass generated from subwoofer when front speaker set as "small"
*
thanks bro..by the way..i watching the dark night movie.with speakers setting recommended for action movie.Like we can still hear the speech clearly without dropping the action sound.
