have you guys tried that? i just try it yesterday night, vista downloaded driver from windows update after installing the driver it seems like its able to charge without the Xbox signal on (the round xbox logo in middle).

just wanna see if any of you guys here tried charging this way? so you dont have to on your xbox for battery charging. not sure if its fully charge yesterday (should have, been charging for 6 hour), i need to check it tonight.

Well, i always charge it using Windows XP/Vista b4 i sold mine
The only light that will appear is the charger LED light (Red/Green)
The controller won't appear any light

And if there's no red/green led light it means you have a dead battery (very common)

after i charge so many hours it seems like its still red ... so i guess the battery is far from dead
