Want to spend about 1k-1.2k on a set of speakers. I love bass but it doesn't have to be too loud. Just enough for my medium sized room will do.

I am currently without a soundcard and with Asus P6X58D-E motherboard. Wonder if spending all my budget on a set of speakers is wise, or whether I should allocate a portion to sound card as well?

Any recommendations for my budget?

P/s - Studying in the UK now so I actually have quite a good variety of choices

What are the main differences I can differentiate before making my choice?

I'm really loving what I hear from the Aego M but users are saying it lacks bass? How little is it's bass? I previously owned a MX5021.
