Guys, need some help...I need a 2.1 speakers...not for PC but for my Digital Piano. Yeah, i know there are specialized keyboard speakers but those are in thousand of RMs...i have no budget to blow right now after buying the digital piano...

What i need is speakers for music, not bass booming speakers. Any recommendations. Anything below RM400 is within budget.

Thanks for the feedback, i'll try to check out those models, but i can't find any reviews online...

btw, i am also looking at Creative T20 (series 1)...coz some forumners are selling it cheap at only RM200++. Anyone tried this speaker before? The higher end T40 seems to be out of budget at around RM550 to RM600... ...and Creative's top range T3 is at RM8xx.....but seems like getting rave reviews everywhere.

Just went to LowYat to do some auditioning just now.

It was pretty hard to hear as they're mostly playing crap music with either heavy metal or boring bass oriented dance hiphop stuff.
But in between, there are a few songs that is actually music, from which i can at least try to derive some opinions.

Edifier RL19000III - Frankly, not impressed at all....sound is way too muffle.

Creative T-3 - Quite impressive. I think it's the best of the lot of all the speakers there...but of course, price also very best.

Sonic A5 and A7 - Can't manage to hear much stuff as most are bass/heavy metal stuff when i try this. But the A7 does sounds better, IMO. But the sub is way too freaky big....


I dunno if it's just me...i've never been impressed with any Edifier speakers.....i tried auditioning them a while back....not impressed then, not impressed now. Hmm....

Too bad there's no Creative T20 or T40 on demo....sigh...

i didn't see any Aego M speakers either...hardly any of the big stores carry this??

Yes, you are right. But the genre nowadays is so blurred now. Maybe a more convenient categorization will be 'generic noise'...LOL.

Hmm...i dunno where to ask, might as well starts here.

I'm looking for either 2.0 or 2.1 speakers...but not for PC but for my digital piano (see my siggy.... The built in speakers is decent, but a bit lack of loudness (only 7W RMS speaker i think).

I'm looking at Creative T-3, T40 v2.0 and Aego M. Aego M seems kinda nice price..i need good mid and high range, bass not my concern. I have only heard the T3 before, haven't heard the T40 or Aego M yet. Btw, is the subwoofer of T3 bigger than the Aego or the Aego subwoofer is bigger? I prefer smaller speakers...No need huge woofer next to my piano...

Any other good ideas? Budget: Nothing more expensive than a Creative T3!!!

Thanks for the info. But i think T3 can also do very good mid and high range, the bass might come in handy when i use backing rhytmn to play pop songs though. Playing piano for extended period can be bore...changing phase to other instrument is fun.

Do you know anywhere can auditon/listen to the Aego-M?

Some reviews says T40 is quite ok...going by specs it's 14W per channel i think, total 28W. My current speaker only 7W ...so should be sufficient me thinks....but again...dunno where to audition.

Ok, i get it...Harmon Kardon SoundStick II...haha... i'm not familiar with all these speaker models.

Say u have a RT1900 wanna let go. Have pics?

I don't really need them to be loud. Just about at least 2x louder than the current 6W built in speaker will do, without distortion!. Having a good bass will be bonus for the rhythmn, but it's a 'nice to have' i guess. Physical size must not be too big. Still prefer 2.0 speakers i think.

But how come it's so hard to find ANY reviews on Edifier speakers?? Results returned is 0. Do u have any links to R1900T3 reviews? I think mostly China sites only...guess it's obvious Edifier is China brand.

Thanks for the links. Much appreciated. However, I don't trust HWM reviews at all...frankly, it's pure rubbish and marketing talk...almost everything in the magazine gets a score of 8 and above by default...

Still i found the price for the R1900T3 is only RM3xx. Will definitely check it out in the showrooms.

But i was never impressed by all the Edifier speakers i heard so far lor...but of course, i haven't the chance to hear the R1900T3 or S2000 yet.

I don't need an expensive speaker for my purpose. I already have a full HT/hifi set with dedicated receiver, woofer and speakers...which is collecting dust coz i don't use anymore...thought of connecting this to my digital piano, but it'll sure look like a fugly frankenstein....Nah...i just need compact small speaker for my purpose.

Just now went to Digital Mall and Highway Laser...

Checked out Creative T3, Edifier R1900T3 and R(S?)2000, Aego M....

In the end, i made a purchase....

But now must go eat dinner coz damn hungry now...

Just back from dinner, ate Bak Kut Teh...now testing the rig on my Digital Piano.

Initially i was dissapointed caused the low sound seems to gives off some buzz/vibration somewhere...in short the last 1.5 octave of the piano keys all gives off an annoying vibrations!!!!

OMG!!! I thought kanasai...spent so much to get a dodgy goods...

Later try very hard to listen to the source of the vibration...in the end...found the source....it was a nearby old cabinet that kena hentam by the vibrations...so i shift the speakers to the other side....Problems solved 98%. Still can listen to some small buzz occasionally from that cabinet, but it is still acceptable for now, until i figure how to relocate my stuff to better positioning.

Oh yeah...what did i bought....

Let's see:
At Digital Mall i went to AllIT, the only place where i can get some test sounds. Zoom in on the T3, test a bit and look around for the Edifier R1900T3. Asked the salesperson, he pointed out to me the R1900 and 2000 model.

The salesperson told me the R1900T3 no more stock...only display, still i continue to test. What can i say....totally dissapointing.....the sound is muddled and single dimensional...doesn't help by the crappy taiwanese pop songs of Emil Chau blaring out....

Next, go back to the T3, still sounds as good as i last heard...i tried to increase the volume...suprisingly, i heard a buzzing sound!! I asked the salesperson about it and he blames the source or something....i suspect it the speaker a bit kaput...coz i've heard many T3's before and nothing like this happened...

The price for T3 is tempting also...promotion only RM799!!!

Anyway, i went to test the Edifier S/R 2000. Now, this sounds a lot better than the R1900T3(or is it that display model also kaput??). It sounds different from the T3...I've switched to and fro between these two. I like the clarity of T3 a bit better. Form factors also plays into consideration. I found the Edifier design is like very dull...and for my purpose, having two speakers on the floor doesn't seems a good idea. Satellites are better for my purpose as i can put it on my digital piano.

Anyway, i've spent quite a while with these 2 models.

Now...at Hiway Laser:
The guy there was very nice. Purposely set up the Aego M for me to test...i feels a bit paiseh...u know ler...high end hifi shop mah...the Aego M is probably the cheaperst speaker in the shop.......

Anyway, he has loads of CDs for me to test, the moment he put in the first CD , i like it already...some sort of reggae music i think. But i'm not into reggae nor it fits my purpose, so request for some instrumental CDs.....yep like it a lot already...can imagine a bit how my digital piano will sound....

Oh....gotta go take bath now.

The comment i made on the single dimensional/flat/muddle is referring to the R1900...in plain words...it's crap...Sorry....maybe the display unit kaput, i dunno. Also, it didn't help all the speakers are blaring Emil Chau...i simply detest that guy.

Done further testing with my Piano just now. Quite satisfied..significantly louder than the built in speakers. Played some music(Emi Fujita) with a DVD player as well. Sounds good, but nowhere as good as my Yamaha receiver with bookshelf speakers and subwoofer....it's a given i guess.

But the salesguy there insist it is RM750. Later KuchingTiger/Kenny PM me and told me the priice is RM690 (I PMed him earlier in the day). I told him i already bought one from his shop at RM750 and asked him if i can get an RM60 refund. He immediately agrees, apparently his staff not aware of the promotion. So today i get back my RM60 from HiwayLaser.

Thumbs up for KuchingTiger/Kenny for good service and honouring his price!

Btw, the offer last until today....only 3 hours to go...better grab one if you intend to buy it now, or it's RM750 on Monday!!!

For RM690 it's RM109 cheaper than the cheapest T3 at RM799. It fits my purpose well, the satellites can be put on my piano and the sound is great.

Sound quality is way ahead of all those Edifiers R1900 and R2000. And the bass is not boomy, fits my need exactly.

Now i only wonder how to mount the satellites on the wall....hmmm...

I think i know who's the person selling the T20. SMS the guy a few times, never bothered to reply me...i think he's not keen on selling anymore. If you have budget just go straight to T40. Around RM 580. Otherwise, the T20 2.0 at RM3xx.

Maybe i post a proper review somewhere later with photos, i also intend to do a test: low end speaker vs High End speaker VS onboard sound vs X-Fi sound card....to see if there's a significant difference or not... I think it'll help a lot of people with this dillemma. But i move very slow...maybe not so soon, i haven't even done proper testing for the Aego-M now...

Say, how do i burn in this speaker? Is it needed? Or i just let it run it course?
