To help you feel better, even Malfreemaps does not show some neighborhood roads that have been in existence for 20+ years. I was shocked.

So there, no maps are infallible.
*
But key difference is that you can feedback to include those missing areas to Malfreemaps, while you can't for sygic. Malfreemaps is a community. They are not obligated to provide infallible maps.the users are in a way responsible for that. I find great satisfaction when my feedbacks were incorporated into the next release. Its the only way it becomes better.

I seen the video posted on the 1st page and I personally don't like the way voice work.

Take this scenario for example. You drive ahead and ahead of you, there are 3 roads A (280 meter), B(300 meter), C(320 meters). And you wanted to turn left at B.

While Papago will tell you to turn left at 300 meters but since these 3 roads are so close to each other, how do we know which is 300 meters? I know some other voice navigation will tell you "turn now" when you reaches B but not when you reach A or C.
*
Sygic tells you which junction to take in your scenario. If its the B junction that you have to take it will tell you to take the second junction and not merely "after XXX meter turn left". If it a highway it will tell you which "E" road to take.

The "turn now" instruction may not be good if your GPS is lagging. Imagine if you're suppose to take junction B and some how you're already at junction C while the GPS is just reaching junction B and instruct you to "turn now". You end up turning at the C junction. ohmy.gif

Are you on custom ROM? I had this problem before and flashed another ROM solved the problem.

The GPS problem could be a ROM issue, radio related.

search papago in market ..
you may download or buy there

its cheaper than you buy in local .. which only cost US25 and local RM100+
buy any version and u just need to change the map to malaysia ..

there are M7 free version too (Got ad)
this version is better IMO

read somewhere that MFM as been directed to stop updates on Papago x5 / 6 /7 ... to curb piracy or something... only x8 can have updates

http://voyager8.blogspot.com/2011/09/end-o...r-x3-x5-x6.html

so does this news still stand? how about the support to Malsingmaps?

and you guys mentioned Sygic ... loving it. trying it now but not sure if it's free or just a trial version ... anyone knows?

thx

You're right MFM is now controlled one way or another by m3gps. They no longer up hold their motto to be a community website. They were asked by m3gps to stop updating maps for x3 to x5 when x8 version is available for android users.

If you Google you will be able to find cracked x8.5 for other platform already available. To curb privacy may be just a lame excuse to force those with lower end device to ditch theirs for a higher end device thus increasing their revenue.
