Google and Download Google Maps [brut] version 4.4.0-brut16 ( about 6.7MB) - is afree download. You can use this to replace your default Gpoogle Maps for voice assisted navigation. I used this several times when I go up to Kuala Lumpur and in Singapore. The navigation features quite similar to MapKing but it has a top header with directions listed. It works very well ( at least I never got lost in KL and Spore) and successfully guided me. The voice however is slightly on robotic tone and pronunciation of road names is not very good, I'd said similar to PapagoX5.

You need to install the bruts version (but its still at version 4 though) here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=630887

I am using it as my main navigation now instead of papago, mainly because of its reroute feature, when I see a junction ahead, and turning right is all jammed up, I can just check google maps whether there's an alternative route that I can use to turn left.

Papago, dunno how to do this.

when u first open papagoX5, it will prompt you to download map at a website. Go to that website, download the files (5 zip files) to your computer, extract all out and you will see a Navisea folder. Just copy that folder to your internal sd card. Start your papagox5 again. nod.gif

It will be trial version at first. If you like it , then pay for it. If you want a faster more convenient way , buy locally online or go to M3 shops :

Get Papago X5 mobile here : you can buy online or from any of their stores:
http://www.m3shoppe.com/index.php?page=sho...emart&Itemid=26

Installation is self explanatory - comes with instructions

If you want, download and update the latest maps from here :

http://www.malfreemaps.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=9628

If you use GPS navigation a lot, this is a good purchase. I bought it during the last PC Fair and it works well on my previous NexusONe, Galaxy S and present Dell Streak and HD2 ( Android rom ) even though it is said it will have issues on Froyo ; so far no issue that I am aware of

Some comments on Galaxy S; Don't expect too much from this phone as its GPS is , I hate to say is horribly poor. It is a hardware issue , and acknowledged by Samsung in the early months but till now still not rectified. PaPago X5 can run on it but sometimes you have to bear with the slower GPS lockup. Not only that it can be at times ridiculously inaccurate and unreliable . My worst experience was once on the highway on my way to KL, at Sg Besi toll it suddenly shows me to be in Rome\Italy !!!

You will also read of many users failing to install it on the SGS as I guess ( no offence to anyone) they were trying to install some other non-genuine versions. As for me, the installation is very simple and straightforward just like my other Android phones. Once installed, launch it and it works , the maps will be shown though the GPS lockup takes longer
