I just realize Malaysia Blackberry user cant access Blackberry App world from Blackberry.

Can somebody help me and let me know where to get application for Blackberry?

1. Download the following .Zip File RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting
2. Unzip it to your desktop
3. Copy the files net_rim_bb_appworld.cod, net_rim_bb_appworld_resource_en.cod and JavaLoader.exe to the following folder depending on your Windows OS:
3.1 In Windows Vista “C:\Users\(Your User)
3.2 In Windows XP “C:\DocumentsandSettings\(Your User)
4. Start CMD (Windows Key + R and then type CMD)
5. Plug-in your BlackBerry
6. Type: javaloader -u load net_rim_bb_appworld_resource_en.cod
once done type next one:
7- Type: javaloader -u load net_rim_bb_appworld.cod

Afterwards your device will reboot and you will have it installed on your device
Tested on Javelin and Bold so far… Not sure if it will work on other devices!

STORM Users:

1. Download the following .Zip file: RapidShare: 1-CLICK Web hosting - Easy Filehosting
2. Unzip it to your desktop
3. Run the Blackberry Desktop Manager
4. Select Application Loader
5. Select Add / Remove Applications
6. Select Browse and look at your desktop for the file “appworld.alx” and select it.
7. Click Next and then Finish.

There is no point of installing Appworld in the storm when it is not supported in our country. You will only see the same 8 free applications that already exist in the Application Center for Storm.

Same goes for the other devices as Appworld will function the same as the App Center in the storm, offering only the 8 free applications.

Yup agreed. Works ok with me, managed to download and install all apps listed. please refer to my topic at http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1147387 for some sample photo. all works ok. tested.

What about for Macuser? Should i copy to C:\Users\<user name>\Library\Application Support\BlackberryDesktop\Device Applications\?

you can put the file in whatever dir you want..as long you know how to grab it in cmd or (i don know what it call in mac)
my sample just to make window user easy to access....

Thx, i will go figure, currently downloading the zip file, but their network is slow. There is terminal in MacOs (something like MSDOS prompt).

It's not sample, it's from Crackberry lol.

lankutu, tried the step one in your blog and failed... managed to installed but got error message behind the loading screen "Invalid signature in response from BB App World. BB App World must now exit."

looks like it doesn't work for 8520?

what version of app. world are u guys running? upgraded to latest 1.1. just now from 1.0.

Works ok, can notice few changes for example only 8 Featured Item displayed at the main screen, compared to last time 16 Item.. Also got Menu for Top Free Item and Top Paid Item.. Lots of apps inside.. Tried to download & install the apps.. and all are ok..

Conclusion.. Awesome!

I'm getting this error message everytime I try to launch it.

'ThemeManager.GetaAtiveTheme'

Any ideas?

i tried to upgrade it yesterday but failed... dunno why... anyone failed too?

I did not get a fail upgrading, with 8 features compared to previous 16, new icons on the bottom tabs. I need to have a battery pull to have more memory.

I have checked that my BB 8520 is running on v4.6.1.286 (Platform 4.2.0.122)

I'm on 1.0.0.30 also.
I'm using a Tour with v4.7.1.40.

Did you go on the link that Lankutu gave with your BB's browser?

Clear your browser cache, clear your phone memory (have a battery pull) and try the same url again.

I tried the url on Opera Mini browser, but it's not working, have to use the default internet browser.

For us non Storm users, I think it keeps us notified when there is an app update right? I remember installing it in one of the leaked OSes and it prompted me to update several IM apps.

I tried it, i got to the page, but there is no icon or indication to downloading anything. Am i dont something wrong?

Look carefully, there is a 'download' text at the bottom left, click on the text and the downloading will start. Good luck

I have cleared them through Options > Security options > Memory cleaning > Clean now and browser > cache operations > clear histories then reboot. But it is still the same or am I missing any other steps?

previously i was with maxis i cant install app world too , but after i switch to digi , i can download it direct to my mobile , and installed more than 30 application from there !! ^^

Curve 8520 from digi ...just point to the bb browser and i was able to install it..works beautifully.

confirmed that, installing v1.1.0.23 now.... using 8520 on DiGi as well

UPDATE: got my answer... we can't buy any app because it's not available here yet

maxis seemed got problem acessing app world huh somemore is the most expensive bb provider..i cant install app world while i am on maxis too..

Hi there, may I know which link you referred to?
I have made an enquire via twitter to Hotlink Youth Club, and Maxis called me straight away.
The officer said that the BB App World is restricted to only the territories mentioned (duh, as if i didnt know) and they will look into matter right after i told them Digi users manage to download it.

P/s: Great. He said it is not possible unless you buy the set from overseas.

Tried using wifi with BB Browser at home, the link provided by shawn gives a HTTP gateway error.
Tried using BIS with BB from Maxis, still same although cache cleared.

So i think my only way is your file.

the appworld in this link is actually from US i think because when we can access APs from US....

i get the file,
when i try to unzip it,
it says cannot open file : it does not appear to be a valid archive
if you downloaded this file, try downloading the file again.

i downloaded it many times already.

I followed lantuku instruction, and installed from desktop. But where is the appworld in the phone? Btw, mine is OS5.

My question is how to install 'Last.fm Personal Radio' app, couldn't find it from blackberry appworld search, but when i checked from north america blackberry app, there is 'Last.fm Personal Radio' app which is applicable for US and UK only. Please enlighten me how to install this app.

When I bought my BB Storm 2, first thing I did was connect it to BB Desktop Manager and did an update my Storm 2 which took hours.

I noticed the App World Icon on the phone and pressed it and started downloading games and softwares to the phone

QuickPull doesn't work well with Bold 9700 if you use it for scheduled restart and your device is holstered or locked. Otherwise, it's OK...

i think u dont have BIS activated.

As far as i know, even if u can download Last FM, it'll never work in malaysia since the IP is locked (much like X360 user can't use Last FM).
