I am here to disagree a bit.. I also using Monster HDMI and I also got a few more, mostly what we call "branded AV" type, one Audioquest also if I am not wrong... But I do detect difference among them.. or it could just be me.. something stuck in the ear and eyes...

Just that each component it linking carry its own characteristic.. its just the matching whether its to your liking.. or else just swap around until you are satisfied... if not also.. then have to buy and buy until satisfied or pocket run dry..

Yeap, its not certified by anybody, but everyone say cheap and expensive HDMI no difference. As long it work, then it work, all those 0&1 argument. Maybe there is built quality, cannot bend too much, break and such, so be more careful or we re-enforce with tape....

But come to think of it, even those so-call "fake" HDMI, as long it work, then no issue right? Might as well buy those "fake" one as it still work. Also, it look real (I mean the cable, not the outcome). Unless the so-call "blind test" was done to proof otherwise. Maybe can get someone that have one of those "fake" HDMI to one of those "blind test" if there is one and go head to head against some "real" cable or even cheap cable and see if really got difference between prices.

Meantime, can go buy "fake" cable, cheap cable, expensive cable and as long got self-esteem boost... just need to be proven otherwise with "blind test" if ever there will be one held....

Some man in the street are not particular on quality of video and audio in their living room even though they have very big screen tv. There are those with money to spent that are not interested in this so no point bringing this argument in.. they maybe prefer to spent money on other things like car, antique, collection of coins or stamps...

So, if you want to know how much difference a good hdmi cable can make, then you need to trust your own eyes... not some other people eyes.. Also finally its your wallet.. Give you a slightly better cable and minimal difference then you say no point upgrading as minimal difference.. and if an expensive one then say wallet bleed to death... so how?????
