I have great experience using monster cable. You can get it cheaper from ebay.com. Cables can make or break your system. Always use high quality.

I have had great experiences with generic cables.
All the cables that came with the media playerseg Dune, Yangxi HDPro, and a really cheap RMVB player. Also cables that came with the PS3, Panasonic Plasma TV and one I bought from a computer shop. The longest one at 45 feet, is from Monoprice, size is 24AWG and it works right away with my projector. So long as the connectors are ok and the wires are not crimped, I believe the 101010...signal will get through. However, if a branded HDMI will give me greater resolution, color depth and clarity with a deeper and wider soundstage, I am willing to try it. |

QUOTE(klimal @ Dec 22 2011, 02:55 PM) I have had great experiences with generic cables. Just making sure your HDMI does support for deep colors. I think I am advised to discard the HDMI cable that come with older Dune models as it does not support Deep Color. Other than that, any hdmi will work for your astro, PS3 & bluray. |

Here my experience using a cap ayam HDMI cable (2 or 3 brands) for my PS3 to my LG 32 Full HD LCD. It is ok when I set it to 720p but whenever I try setting it to 1080P my ps3 failed to deliver the signal over to my LCD so tried Monster cable bought from digitaltech. So cable was able to deliver full 1080p from my ps3 same goes to my AVF media player. Tried the HDMI cable come with the box same thing it could not deliver any picture whenever i set it to 1080p it went blank..... Now using my Xbox360 Gamelink monster cable and now its was able to deliver 1080p to my lcd.

My experience show that my cap ayam 3m length V1.3 HDMI cable bought 2 years ago supporting 3D. Using Sony KDL-55EX720 and BDP-S485. Other than that, any hdmi will work for your astro, PS3 & bluray. |

QUOTE(mikapoh @ Dec 23 2011, 10:12 AM) yup.. I played Shrek 3D and the signal was detected by the Sony KDL-55EX720 and the 3D effect was quite nice. Haven't tried any other title since I'm still waiting for my others 3D order from Amazon. The connection was even connected through a 1 x 2 HDMI splitter as my Pioneer VSX-919 doesn't support 3D pass through. This post has been edited by willkso: Dec 23 2011, 05:07 PM |

Bought it around RM 300++ because its a 5meter monster cable connecting my pc to lcd. Will a low quality or cheapor cable ruin a TV that I am not too sure. I just got fedup with those cap ayam brand or probably my LCD is the 1 too picky rather than me |

Im using Sony V1.4 HDMI Cable ( DLC-HE15BD ) for PS3 , BD Player and Xbox360 .. I bought 3 HDMI cable in one shot at Sony Style which cost me rm199 per cable .. Very satisfied with the quality
Most people said any HDMI cable are the same , but i believe branded HDMI will give more quality compared to cheap HDMI... |

Yesterday i tested out my AC Ryan using their in house HDMI cable and played Real Steel 1080p, i find the sound was not as wide and loud as when i played the same movie on a PS3 using Monster M2000HD HDMI 1.4 and you can really notice the sound difference.
I am sure high quality really will perform in a way so i would advice consumers to get a decent good quality HDMI and every cent u pay, i am sure you won't regret it later. |
